Pure Acid Troubleshooting

I’m using Pure Acid in GarageBand iOS. When I record a track with Pure Acid it records the audio, and plays the recorded audio in GarageBand, but doesn’t show anything as being recorded in the timeline. The timeline is completely blank, but the track contains the recorded audio. In other words, I can mute every other track and hear the Pure Acid track, but the timeline shows nothing on that track. Thanks in advance!

  • As far as I know GarageBand doesn't record any midi from Pure Acid. The AUv3 always produces the audio.
You might try to 'merge' the Pure Acid track in GarageBand to render the output to audio...

    Thank you very much!

  • Pure Acid does respond to midi from the GarageBand keyboard (Midi Channel #1) so you can play the bass line and record midi using the GarageBand keyboard if need. Drums in Pure Acid use Midi Channel #10 but since you can not set the midi-channel of the GarageBand keyboard drums can not be triggered.

  • I’m not sure you can record the midi notes out from Pure Acid to any DAW, though I could be wrong.

  • It says virtual midi in/out on the app description

If I recall correctly the stand-alone (IAA) transmits midi but midi-out is not present when used as AUv3.
(Pure Acid stand-alone creates it's own virtual midi port)
