Best way to power the new Launchpad Pro MK3 with iPad Air2

I'm considering getting the new Launchpad Pro MK3. I use an iPad Air2 and I'm assuming it won't be enough to power that Launchpad model.

Has anyone tried the combo?

What would be the easiest way to power the Launchpad (without a computer or Launchpad power supply)?
Also curious if some of you use that Launchpad with iPad Pro models and if they're enough to power it.

    @AndyPlankton so any USB hub that has a power adapter would work? is MIDI transmitted alright through the hub?

    @stelvio If you have the Apple USB3 Camera Adapter with the lightning connector alongside the USB port, you can try your Apple power adapter first. I'm able to supply 2 keyboards that way, using an unpowered USB hub. And yes, any hub will transmit MIDI correctly; it's a standard signal.

    @uncledave Thanks unc, I have the simple lightning to USB one but might be a good idea to try the one that has the lightning connector alongside the USB port as you say, as that would mean less gear and adapters to travel with.

    @stelvio Yeah, I think you want the newer adapter when you're attaching stuff like this. It lets you charge the battery while using. Hate to run out of juice in the middle of a session. BTW, a powered hub will not charge the iPad; current has to come from the lightning connector.

    Yes, you'll need the adapter that lets you charge.

    Be aware that if you want to add further devices in the future then the CCK may struggle to supply enough power. I have blown a CCK by having too many power hungry devices attached to it.

    MIDI works fine through a powered hub.

    Thanks. Actually it's not an app, it's my screensaver. It's a Circle of 5ths 'squared' poster that I designed. Figured it made a good screensaver as all I use my iPad for is music. :)

    Yes I figured the new Launchpad editor allows to reassign the notes that the pads trigger, in user mode.
    So I can replicate ChordPoly's 8 x 8 grid per 4 regions on the Launchpad, and... shred! Might post the result here yes!
