PolyIvoks Filter - Filter from the 80's by RRS, OOO
PolyIvoks Filter AUv3 plug-in — comes as time-limited Demo-version for you to try. It gives you 5 minutes of Free play time. (You can reload the PolyIvoks Filter AUv3 plug-in as many times as you want, thereby you get the Demo period again and again.) Unlimited version of PolyIvoks Filter AUv3 plug-in comes as In-App Purchase
PolyIvoks Filter developed on the basis of the filter of the legendary Soviet synthesizer from 1980s, and only now the legendary Soviet analog sound became available in stereo mode.
Features:
• Standalone and AUv3 plug-in;
• Precise port of Rack Extensions plug-in;
• Modeled vintage Filter.
MODULATOR house the LFO controls: MODE — which offers four waveforms, including Noise and a stepped function for Sample & Hold effects, well as SPEED control.
FILTER: The four controls adjust CUTOFF, RESONANCE, LPF to BPF switch, MODULATION (LFO) level and ENVELOPE level (You can set positive or negative values).
ENVELOPE: repeating ATTACK/DECAY envelope.
MASTER: the rightmost unit has 3 regulators ENVELOPE level (You can set positive or negative values), VOLUME (output gain) and DIGITAL/ANALOG switch.
To use PolyIvoks Filter as a plug-in, you need an AUv3-compatible host app like GarageBand, Auria, AUM, Cubasis and more — PolyIvoks Filter will appear in the list of Audio Unit extensions for effect plug-ins in the host app.

Had me at “..Soviet synthesizer from the 80s”
It sounds so dirty and crunchy. Pretty awesome.
Rrs on fire these days🔥
Haha, I have noticed here that there seems to be a huge cache on anything with a hint of the soviet. Soon devs will be changing their names to something vaguely Russian sounding to cash in on this mystique 😂
Instabuy! Has anyone had any luck getting it to populate in the AUM AU list? The app is not showing up for me in the list.
It showed up immediately, without running the standalone.
Maybe you're on iOS 13? 😉
It showed up for me immediately on iOS 13 but I did run the standalone first.
Curiously, just before this one I bought Thesys and I had to restart to get that to show up in either AUM or NanoStudio. I didn’t try anywhere else. Never had that problem before.
Wow, definitely need try this!
Weird! What name is it displaying as? I just rebooted same prob running iOS 13.3 have not updated yet...
@ElektrikDiva

Same. I think the thing with old Soviet synths is that I haven't seen many or used any. Whereas I have either seen or used most Western ones. Plus they look like they were built by Olga with her blowtorch and hammer from an old tank.
Sold! Sounds great and has a killer 'lofi' mode from turning the envelope up a notch and the attack and delay all the way down.
I might have to check out this company's other stuff, even though I have plenty of eq.
So the envelope is triggered by a follower? I just downloaded it expecting it to act something like the VCS3 Filter, but unfortunately its not a music effect, so it can't be triggered by midi. Somewhat unfortunate.
Nice filter. The parameters are exposed in AUM but the automation doesn’t work. Any ideas?
Do they also make SSM style filter?
Thank you Charles! I was putting this in the wrong slot. This is the First time I had to put a synth into an effects slot so that was my problem. Cheers!
Sounds nice, but then I realised I have many filter AUs already...and yes the AU params didn't work here either
It’s not the synth, just the filters.
There is a Polyvoks synth on iOS but I don’t think it has any connectivity
Oh thanks Gus that clarifies much. I can’t get any sound out of it. So how does one use these filters to make a sound? I made a mistake and thought that I bought a synth!
Ah that’s too bad. These look awesome though (I haven’t purchased yet but plan to after the hearing the demo).
Basically, they are like any FX in that you need a sound source and then add these filters in the FX slot. Like my favourite RX950 app.
Ah OK so I can add these to any AUM Au compatible IOS synths? is this correct? I too would love to see a set up Demo. Cheers & thanks to all the responders~it all helped me some.
Haa.. yes. I've only seen / heard a few Soviet (or "Soviet") audio things in the digital world and what I have heard keeps me coming back.
Doesn’t work for me either. @RedRockSound could You find out why. Using latest version of AUM, iOS 13.4.1.
Sounds great! Like butter.
This is a really nice sounding filter. But AU parameter automation doesn’t seem to do anything. Parameters are exposed but nothing happens when I link, say, an lfo to them. Can anyone confirm this? Or is it perhaps that I am using the demo app and it is somehow disabled in the demo?
I tested lot of moogish, 303ish and many others classic filters, but they barely clicked. Maybe I have weird tastes, I don't know. But few days ago I tested beautiful Mutable Ripples (hope to see it in MiRack too) which sounded somehow clean and dirty at the same time. Best buddy for Plaits. And it's FM input really expand sound pallette. And now this one looks like absolutley beast. Just put it on any boring square wave, turn on reso and envelope and you'll be rewarded with so fat, gritty and analogish sound. Also it's bitcrushing/ringmod sounds pretty nice to.
I've loved all his things I tried. But are AU parameters actually working on any of them yet? None I tested actually worked, I informed the dev but nothing has changed, it seems. I tried in AUM just now. I attached midilfos to control a parameter in polylvoks. Zero response. To check if there was user error, I immediately tried the same thing but using Frms synth. The parameter was being altered as expected. So definitely not user error. And that was weeks ago that I informed the dev. Very sloppy. Please can other ppl check this, and it you find the same problem in any of his apps, email him with urgency. Or if you do manage to get it working, please let me know so I can try to get to the bottom of this.
As a prior owner of an Erica Synths Polyvox Acidbox Filter, I loved the sound of the filter more than my Moog Filterbox and it pretty much nailed the TB303 style of filter I was looking for, but it was mono and I narrowed down to two filters: both stereo (The Jomox T-Resonator {which can and will destroy audio in glorious ways} and the Alesis ModFX Phitre {best filter for seroiusly filtering in every way, including band stop, triggering and really steep range)... Then Erica Synths comes out with a stereo Acidbox III and I started developing a pedal twitch again. Luckily, this would satisfy that itch. I think I'm gonna have to get it. Need some sound demos though for resonance/grit.... On drums, preferred.
You don’t need vids! All his apps have a demo mode for 5 mins where you can try them, even as AUs
