Is there anything like a pro version of this app?
This is Bliptronic https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/bliptronic/id1298627171, a fairly ancient app with no inter connectivity whatsoever, I’ve attached a tiny demo to show it in action:
Thing is, I really like using a grid like this to sequence, and I’m wondering is there anything out there that offers the same grid format and immediacy, but with modern enhancements like au or iaa connectivity, the ability to save, copy, paste, and sequence multiple grids, set scales and beat divisions and so on? Any suggestions appreciated.

First thing comes to mind is that Spacecraft has a grid sequencer like this, and you can set scales.
And isn't xynthesizr a matrix-based sequencer too?

@monome, @Gavinski : Good call, Xynthesizer is (almost) exactly what I had in mind, though it would have been even more on point if it had AU, and extended the 8x8 grid/song building capacity of BeatHawk. Although, thinking about it, maybe I should try this over again in BeatHawk... hmmm...

Regarding song mode, not quite there but save presets and change manually

Ancient, but same concept.
This thread got me thinking about Beatwave. This app was once an absolute favourite of mine, then it got an update to version 3 which completely overhauled the experience, and not entirely for the better. It took a while to relearn how to use the app, finding where sounds we’re moved to and how to access my previous purchases.
So, I had thought it would be a good recommend here, but I’ve learned that the app is now subscription based. They are asking nearly $70CAD for a year!
Seriously... I don’t understand this kind of ballsy request for a toy that’s already been available for nearly (edit: it’s actually over) a decade. I do at least suggest trying the demo. The app is pretty and it’s got some neat fun for a stand-alone product. But for a subscription price like that... I’d like to see promises that development is continuing, since for several years now nothing has changed in-app... aside from adding the new payment model.

That was a big reason people didn’t like it.
