A way to record separate Audiotracks from Multitimbral Synths like iM1
Just want to make a track, just with one machine (the Korg iM1). This does not have an Audio Unit, so i cannot put multiple instances in my Sequencer (NS2). So i use the iM1, with background audio on, as an External Midi. which works great.
But how would you record the separate audio tracks for later mixing in a DAW?

If it doesn’t export stems, then soloing one track at a time is probably your only option.
You’ll need to host im1 in AUM or AudioShare to record the output. This will need to be done one track at a time unfortunately.
AFAIK with Korg Gadget i can have several instances of the iM1. May Gadget be used as a workaround?
Yes and no. Gadget only has one output too. You’d either need to record the midi in gadget, then export audio tracks, or do the same ... solo each track and record it with an external recorder such as AUM.
Or (and I could be wrong about this)...there is the option to send it to dropbox, which allows you to send ALL the stems, then download it off Dropbox.
That will only work if the midi data is recorded into Gadget from NS2. Gadget only exports based on the notes it has in its own sequencer.
This can be done, but just recording the audio output produced from NS2's midi output is probably more time effective if NS2 is acting as the sequencer. Otherwise, every time a change is made in NS2, the same change would need to be duplicated in Gadget, or the whole sequence would need to be re-recorded into Gadget.

NS2's External MIDI Device is good so far. I have made a patch for remote control of some parameters like Vol., Pan, FX, Cutoff etc of the iM1 so i can do basic mix automation within NS2. Just like in the 80s/90s when i got all my stuff controlled with the Atari ST 😎

Wonder if you can export a MIDI file from NS and import it into Gadget as separate iM1 tracks? If so, and you already had the gadget project setup with the correct number of iM1 tracks, this might be a lot faster/easier than doing track by track bounces. Bonus: you wouldn't have to line up all of the tracks afterwards as they'd all be the same lengths (or at least all have the same start times).
I believe multi midi tracks allow this feature. Although it usually defaults to using Marseille as the instrument.
Also beware that gadget versions of the iM1 are not the same as the stand alone version. I discovered this the hard way when some of my favorite patches were not available in gadget of coarse this is never mentioned in the marketing
