As long as both devices are on the same wifi network Airdrop works pretty ok...
I second airdrop, when it plays nicely. There have been many times for me when it just refused to play at all, though.
found a great way- better than airdrop!
seems that nobody talks about this ?!:)
samba. smb.
on mac:
system pref/sharing/enable file sharing
on ios:
files/"..."(in the right corner)/connect to server
enter yourmacname.local
enter your mac user/pass
tadaaa!:)
fast and smooth!
enjoy.
airdrop is very nice. just make sure your on the same wi fii network, and right wifi channel if you have a dual ban router. I’ve gotten hung up several time when my computer was on 2.5ghz, channel, and macbook was on 5.0ghz channel.
Guess too many are still on iOS11.x & 12.x or something LOL
But yeah, SMB works pretty well too. I use it for browsing samples from my NAS...
Did you ever know that you’re my hero? Thank you!
Those still on iOS 12 can use Documents by Readdle. It’s free and can access SMB shares
I prefer it to Files because Documents allows me to set up 2-way sync for any folder - it’s such a time saver

@waka_x : you can also wirelessly share from AudioShare (which has access to Files, of course) on iPad via your browser on the Mac if they are both on the same WiFi connection. Just turn on the WiFi drive option (blue WiFi icon button bottom left in AudioShare) On the iPad and enter the http address it gives you in a browser on your Mac. Works a treat.
