No not really. I heard of sidecar but it seems that it must run in the forground.
I don’t really care about note off messages. I want to send cc or prog changes to sequencers for pattern changes when jamming in AUM.
thanks. yeah, I'd heard of sidecar and understand the limitations, but I wondered if this new keyboard functioned differently - might be cool to have something like the logic / reason qwerty piano

The keyup message is nothing to do with the keyboard itself. It’s an iOS limit. And one which was lifted in iOS 13.4. Now, both key down and key up events are available to developers.
given how much it costs, it should also be able to prepare dinner for you and wash the dishes.

For reference, if you have the Moog Model 15 app, the QWERTY keyboard works with it.

Developers need to add support for it though. Each of them individually. Could be a long time before seeing it widespread.
On the other hand, if they can hook up to Apple's auto-suggest / auto-correct, we could be in for some amazing random generative music.
Would be nice in general since i really often use computer keyboards as midi input and just use humanize/randomize values for velocity or i use a trackpad on top for multi-touch and/or a velocity slider/switch together with the keys.
I really can play much more expressive this way than on a flat glass. Exceptions are made for touch screens midi input apps like ThumbJam (brilliant app) or things like Animoog where as long as i just have 4 voices anyway it works brilliant too. Otherwise the tactile feedback is really needed for me mostly to get a much better feeling while perform, even if it just is an on/off event per key. Actually i perform this way in 90% of my creations and even seldom use my Seaboard.
Every DAW at least (at best a general thing in all audio apps) should support qwerty input as midi source.
Yes, if the DAWs have it then most apps should be able to work with it as they do now with the DAW's keyboard.
One hitch may be that DAWs and apps support down-rev operating systems that wouldn't have the capability, or I should say, would work poorly if at all with it. The support is only in 13.4 and beyond, and most apps support OS's earlier than that. So, some way of disabling the feature, or attempting to accommodate the lack of key-up messages would need to be built in.
