Thanks @wim
Yep, I’m pleased to find the IAA Aphelion state saves in AUM.
And the standalone/IAA Aphelion GUI has that IAA button to bounce you back to AUM.
I guess the remaining AUv3 upside is that more than 5 (4 instruments +1 drum box) instruments can be sequenced when more that 5 instances of the AUv3 Aphelion are deployed.
Apologies for not reading through the entire thread, but am seduced (finally) by this thingie, especially as I like the song mode here very much. HOWEVER:
Any export options I'm missing? Or: Can one export songs (rather than recording them into AUM etc)....?
@JuanB another vote for copy/paste patterns in auv3 :-)
Yes, the AU is very nice, thanks for the updates
+1 for copy paste. Scales and midi input mode on the keyboard in sequencer mode would also be great.
1000%👍🏼😌
Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is that magnifying glass for? No mention of it in the manual and it doesn’t seem to do anything.
It enables/disables the ability to zoom in/out with a two-finger pinch.
Yes, it does! Thanks for that. Seems obvious now. I was tapping and swiping every which way, but nothing was happening.
Recently installed Aphelian on an iPad Pro running iOS 12 and I am not finding the AUv3 extension anywhere. Standalone is working fine with IAA into AUM, but... even after deleting and reinstalling, I’m not able to locate the AU arpeggiator in AUM.
Works fine in iOS 13 on a separate unit. Came here looking to see if there was any mention of it not being supported on 12, as the App Store says it’ll work on anything after 9.
Ideas? Suggestions? Help me find out: Is this a bug or is it user error?
Create a midi only channel in AUM.
You will find the Aphelian AUv3 in the
'Audio unit midi processor', menu.
Thinking of getting this. I use fugue machine and Riffer, quite a bit. Have been looking for other sequencers. Was looking at everything from step poly to polyphase to atom... I’m liking the look of this a lot, looks like it does multiple things. Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions to someone who is still learning this whole iOS sequencer thing?
Yeah, that works fine on my unit running iOS 13, but it doesn’t show up there on my other iPad running 12.0.1.
I’m not wanting to update from iOS 12 on this unit because I lost access to several music apps after updating my other unit to 13. Hoping to have Aphelian working on both.
LK if you like ableton style clip sequencing, all midi clips tho not audio.
drambo , but it doesn’t use a piano roll, does have a great song mode tho
stepbud, i always get things i wouldn’t have thought of with this. the gui is kinda like a spreadsheet lol but it def has the options you want
Thanks for this. Looking at it now, and it’s only $5? No brainer.
Looks like it does great things, totally does look like a spreadsheet 😂
Just discovered Aphelian and this thread... What a great sequencer! Hopefully reviving this thread will get a few more people looking at it
@JuanB you mentioned that you were looking at getting planets into the AU version - any update on this?
Is Aphelian not available anymore? I tried to download to my new iPad but got the not available in your country/region.
Was that in the “my apps” listing in the App Store?
No, “No Results for Aphelian” is what pops up when searching in my purchased apps. Same with Oscilab. There’s still a GitHub page but their website domain name is for sale.
.
It’s been down for a little while now I wasn’t able to download it when I switched iPads 4 months ago. It’s been removed from the store for at least 6-8 months maybe more. I miss this one a lot , still on my older iPad but barely use that one. I loved to use it to create a bass line or lead from any chord progression.
I was a bit overwhelmed by the standalone version, didn’t really gel with it. The AUv3 is super intuitive by comparison, really a jewel, those patterns are key to getting a really nice groove. I think I still have it on 2 maybe 3 older iPads. I’ll be using it finally. Really a brilliant piece of kit!
Same.
Welp. Time to move it to my never delete folder along with the PPG apps.
