I reckon these updates and the attention the dev is giving this app deserve some better ratings on the App Store.

    +1

  • @dwrae : Is an updated manual forthcoming?

    Yes.

@dwrae wow the new synth is awesome!!! Would you ever consider releasing it as an auv3?

That would probably kill our Apple account. People who published variants of Synth One got their app removed or were completely banned by Apple.

I'm obviously more concerned about why you want to use it with a different DAW. :)

oh ok i has no idea it was somehow modeled after synth one, it feels/looks/ so different to me and is much easier to navigate... plus the patches that ship with it are quite different than what i am used to from sm1.
nothing against the daw, i just prefer to work in aum or audiobus, however i do want to try to dig into the daw more, and see how i get along with it.
i tend to prefer working with clip launchers over a linear time line... can it record midi from midi audio units such as LK/riffer??

SM1 is SynthMaster 1 which is not the same as AudioKit Synth One which is what AEM modded for its new synth.

ya for sure , i just didn’t compare the two they look so different and feel different, i use sm1 a lot but really would use it more in the format on this daw... def was not thinking he meant aks1

  • If I already have the toneboosters apps, will this make me repurchase them as IAP's in this app? This is what make me shun Caustic as something I never wanna be working with. But after WEB au and the Radio Au app, a working timeline for arrangement is just about the last reason I have to do anything on my laptop

Just use the TB AUs you bought elsewhere. AEM lets you use any AUs that you own.

  • Sorry J should have asked the first time.. When can we expect it (The updated manual )? Congratulations BTW .. This all looks great . Built in synth? Oh yeah!!

  • Does AEM have a tempo track or ability to change time signatures within a song?
And how does its piano roll compare to the one in Cubasis 3 (for anyone who has used both)?
    Thanks

I have a hard time understanding how LK works. It presents itself as AUv3 instrument, but if you use it, no sounds are produced at all. The app can record MIDI from iFretlessBass, so in theory it should work, but there are probably users here that can tell you more about it.

I was so wise not to put a timestamp on that, but my unwise answer is January.

The Android version has, so this will come soon to the iOS version as well.

my bad i worded the question wrong, i was asking if AE was capable of recording the midi out from apps like LK , figure machine, and other au midi out apps... i’ll give it a test later.
and yes LK sends midi out (is a midi instrument) to your auv3 instrument, basically it’s a sequencer that lets you arrange clips to launch in sync with the host and generate random melodies/chords... i want to send midi from it to AE and capture it on the AE time line .

  • You can record midi from both the midi AU slot and AU instruments, one thing it does really well is record a multichannel midi track from GR16 for example and then you can split this out to individual tracks.
It would be nice to have more midi fx slots like Cubasis so you can chain fx.

  • when i try to open riffer it opens the synth...
    bug or my error?

after a few reloads i got the midi au to open, seems to be an occasional hang up

I found a bug where the AU MIDI wouldn't display when the transport is not running. I cannot think of anything that would show Evo One though.

it only happened a couple times, i’ve been able to have the midi au work properly since

Hi, any predictions for inclusion of midi mapping?

  • Just a quickie! The reason people run out of resources so quickly in iOS DAW’s is because iPad’s can’t cope with too many AUV3’s at once, so if you want to be able to make full tracks it is essential to know how to render your midi tracks to real audio so you can kick those AUV3’s out of the project and save on processing power. Here’s how that’s done in Audio Evolution.

No, I currently have to finish another project first unfortunately.

Thanks @Jamie_Mallender for these great videos, they’re very informative and answered a lot of my questions.
AEM has become #1 for me because I can get so much done so quickly and correctly the first time.

No problem, it’s my pleasure to be of some help. I’m so glad you made this comment because you hit the nail on the head, why I enjoy Audio Evolution so much. Getting stuff done, quickly and correctly first time. It is uncomplicated, and it works.

  • I wonder if that new 2021 iPad Pro I’m considering getting would fare any better insofar as managing those pesky auv3’s is concerned (better processor)?
