Will all apps need updating before they work with iOS9

  • @yug Thanks, I think it mainly affects 'new installs' as Gadget, Module and iM1 need to do some housekeeping to make the data available between apps and that requires some extra 'handling'. i.e. in iOS9 the user has to allow the actions which are transparent in iOS8.x and if the app doesn't handle these extra steps it will crash...

If the 'housekeeping' is already done prior to iOS update it will most likely just work.

I will be doing the update anyways and Gadget will be the first app i Launch after the update :)

  • The updates are online, downlading now! Gadget, iM1, iElectribe...

Apple wants us all to be excited by their updates, but it just strikes terror into most of us!

It is this combination of excitement and terror that makes it interesting :)

Most of the apps on my iPad Air 2 work without a problem running iOS9 except for Waldorf Attack which I guess will be updated soon anyway because Nave was recently updated to work with iOS9. The only other problem I have is that some synths crash on Cubasis when using IAA and only Korg iM1 shows up on Audiobus.

That's a bummer. I've been thinking about getting Attack. I hope it won't take them forever to release a fix

Definitely respecting the IOS brave. I think it really is a question how one uses iPad. I have a live show on the 7th of October and in no way am I updating any of my iPads before that. This is because I have a very specific set up that works. If turnado stopped working I'd struggle to find a good replacement, the same goes for sunrizer, samplr or mimix. Too much at stake.

If I was using my iPad casually to record stuff at my own pace I'd probably be updating, mostly out of curiosity of the split screen thing. Having said that I don't think many of my favourite apps will be supporting it from the word go.

It's okay now. A reboot of my iPad Air 2 fixed the IAA issue in Cubasis and now everything is working fine. Still audio problems with iPolysix on IAA though.
