Auria works in input and output slots on iPad Air2

    On ios8.

    Sorry, on iOS 9.01

  • No need to sorry ;) but can't confirm it for output, alas.

Attack is a pain. I make single hits for Cubase sampler instruments with Attack so it's the only app that I'm really holding out for now the Audiobus update is available.

Attack was a useless pain in the arse way before iOS9 came along

Actually can you guys try all of the apps above again? We've fixed a few things in the backend.

I can personally confirm that things are working better for me now. I am seeing MultiTrack DAW for the first time since going to iOS9. :-)

Currently using iOS 9.0.1 on an iPhone 6 Plus.

    Thank you!!

  • Yes, thank you very much. With the icon's launching improvement and Auria's restored input functionality, it's advancing pretty well.

LOL - true enough - it definitely falls into the 'It got so much hype before release and I've bought the bloody thing now, so I'm sure as hell going to force it into my workflow somehow!'

So I resolved myself to the fact that the thing it is good at is programming individual hits - hence being a good source for Cubasis sampler sounds. That said, it isn't really important enough to stop me going with iOS 9.

  • Anyone else not getting anything from Amplitube in the AudioBus effect slot?

iPad Air 2 iOS 9.01 latest versions of everything.

I just tried Auria and it is still not working (iOS 9.0.1 - latest of every app including Audiobus, iMini 2 16).

No sound from, e.g., Animoog in input -> Auria in output. (Tried with several sound sources too.) Same settings as I use on other devices.

Also, running Auria freezes the keyboard in Animoog when used via Audiobus - can't press any keys. Anyone else able to confirm that? (Works fine if started via IAA in the FX slot - no problem). Also, doesn't affect anything else in Animoog, just the keyboard itself; can manipulate other controls in Animoog fine.

Works with Cubasis - no problem.

Yes, I have fully restarted my iPad to test this :-)

  • Here's Rim's reply to my Q posted on the Auria boards. Kudos that he replied as he did, but, :-(

I don't know of any fixes for this, unless the Audiobus devs released something. Unless they fix this themselves, the fix for this will have to wait until Auria 2.0 is out, since Apple is no longer accepting 32 bit app updates (Auria is 32 bit, while Auria 2.0 / Auria Pro are 64 bit apps).

As a workaround, I recommend using the IAA versions. Most apps are accessible through IAA, so this shouldn't cause much of an issue until Auria 2.0 is out.

  • @Musicinclusive

That makes a lot of sense, but afraid we may have some 32 bit apps fall by the way side. I'm going to test all I can in Audioshare.

  • Anyone tested Alchemy yet?

  • Slightly off topic -- is it true that in iOS 9 you can't make backups of your apps anymore? Did anyone try this? I mean using a utility like CopyTrans Apps to save the ipa to a computer -- and if necessary copy that ipa back to the ipad.

  • @Fruitbat1919 - Well, my concern is, for many people Auria is a staple and while we wait for Auria Pro, we're still not sure which spring is being talked about in which hemisphere :-) So, meantime, Auria is broken on iOS 9 with Audiobus, which is going to significantly impact people's workflow. I think that's pretty important (is for me and I'm sure I'm not alone). It's another reason I will not update any other devices to iOS 9 for the time being. An absolute killer for my workflow. (I bought a mini 2 16 cheaply 2nd user just recently to sacrifice to iOS 9 for testing this kind of stuff - the rest are on iOS 7 (with one exception on 8) ).

Also - I'm still uncertain whether Rim's reply means Auria Pro will not work on iPad 2/ mini 1 / iPad 3 etc. - i.e. non-64-bit devices. I've asked him.

Yep I've updated and just tried recording Animoog into Auria via AudioBus - no go. Then I tried via Aurias IAA and it worked until I changed presets or recorded other tracks and the sound just breaks up. So yes, more wrong then I initially thought. I'm going to have no choice but get Auria Pro now.

  • That's interesting - hadn't seen the changing presets issue. Will check. Meantime @FruitBat1919, the rest of us will continue to want to use Auria with AB and will have to not use iOS 9 if we want to do that... Methinks...

I'm finding more problems of late with updating, so my advice is don't! yet anyway.

  • That worked OK for me with iSEM, but, not with Alchemy @FruitBat1919.... :-( Wonder how many other issues are there like this. Not good... :-(

    Alchemy through IAA?

  • @Musicinclusive

Alchemy too in IAA Auria. Alchemy and Animoog are fine in Cubasis.

every year the same thing happens. everybody says: don't update! don't you learn lessons?it's a shame you can't use your favourite apps because of this.

My first year with an iPad lol

  • yeah, spring is usually a good time to upgrade iOS in my experience

  • Rim clarified. As previously understood, Auria Pro will be OK on older 32-bit devices too, with iPad 4 minimum recommended but working at least on older even.

  • But, meantime, yeah, we have an Auria issue on iOS 9 - which means, no iOS 9 for me on any other gear. No sir! :-/

Means I can't update my iOS until Auria Pro comes out then, disappointed they're not fixing this.

  • Maybe Amplifind? It's not working on any of my ios devices.

  • I've been able to run Alchemy on an iPad 2 running iOS 9.0.2 in both Audiobus and IAA.
