Top Ten Audiobus Apps
Audiobus has been released about 6 months now and we all agree it has done wonders in letting music apps work with each other. Many many apps have become compatible; and we have all taken turns reviewing them, praising them, trashing them, and even help fix problems with them as they rolled out. I am curious, now that we've all tried so many different apps, which ones make your top ten list? If you could only keep 10, which stand out for you? This goes across all categories equally: synths, daws, drums, effects, whatever. I'm curious what do you all think?

Cubasis, Alchemy, Animoog, Guitarism, Jamup, iFretless Bass, Sampletank, Turnado, Drumjam, iMini..wow that was so hard to do, I could easily do another ten..brilliant question..
Yes, that's hard... Beatmaker 2, Turnado, PPG WaveMapper, Animoog, iMS-20, Sunrizer, DM1, Samplr, TC-11, Auria... I think I can make an album with these.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
ThumbJam, Drumjam, Cubasis, Alchemy, Guitarism, Jamup, iFretless Bass, Sampletank, , Animoog,Sunrizer.
Alchemy, Guitarism, Sampletank, Stochkastik, Soundprism Pro, Jamup, Garageband, Cubasis, Anytune Pro+, OMGuitar. Not necessarily in that order.
Audioshare - absolutely essential. Use it as a quick recorder. Trim, normalize put it in the in slot play a loop feed Turbinado. Ampkit - in the effects slot for the iFretless Bass and Guitar. Loopy and Cubasis to compose. Sampletank for great "natural" instruments.
Alchemy, iPolysix, BM2, Audioshare, Guitarism, JamUp, Turnado, iMini, iFretless, Sampletank.
My secondary list: Animoog, Auria FabFilters, Magellan/Sunrizer
BTW That was really hard!!!!!!!
Wow, I'm seeing different line-ups to I guess make music in different ways. Lots of Animoogs, which I love too, I just have trouble working it into a song. Thanks so far to everybody picking their cream of the crop apps, I think you guys have awesome takes on all music things IOS related!
I'd like to resurrect this thread.
What are your top 10?
To the ones who've posted: 8 months later with countless releases, are these apps still in your top 10?
It seems MidiBridge, Electrify NXT, etc are essentials.
Thanks!
Would have to replace 2 with Caustic and Soundfont Pro.
iFretless Bass, Thor, Magellan, Alchemy, JamUp, BIAS, Rooms!, AUFX:PeakQ, BM2, level.24
Those are what I use with AB the most lately. I still find Cubasis useful but I go between my phone and iPad depending on where I am so BM2 gets me the functionality I'm after most times. Then everything goes to Dropbox and into Auria. I don't use AB with Auria so much unless it's to look around in level.24
A lot different now, no disrespect to all the great Synths, but I've got more effects on my list:
Audiobus, Auria, Audio Mastering, Audioshare, DM1, Master FX, TF7, Thor, NeoSoul Keys, and gotta have my ThumbJam!
DrumJam, Thumbjam, SoundPrism, Filtatron, Jamup, Audioshare, Triqtraq, Magellan, Modular, Figure. I could go on, but this is what I normally use.
From a beginner point of view: Sunrizer, DM1, Beatmaker2, Animoog, Drumjam, Thumbjam, Figure, Audiobus, Garageband, JamSynth. Novation Launchkey, Novation LaunchPad, DrumBeats+
Animoog, Beatmaker 2, ipolysix, Auria, Cubasis, Electrify NXT, Nave, Sunrizer, Bias, Magellan
And iLectric, Nlog, Thor, iSEM, iMini, Turnado, Jamup...iMS20....Oh no i can't choose...
Cubasis, Thumbjam, Thor, Drumjam, Modular, Loopy, AudioReverb, AUFX plugs (can't narrow it to just one here), Filtatron (returned from the dead recently), and of course AudioShare.
These are the ones that have recently been getting a lot of use from me. Some are essential "old standbys". Others (notably effects) are suited to taste. AudioShare would be categorized as my must have. There are many more that I use.
Yeah, funny how time changes the list. For me right now it's definitely;
Auria, Drumjam, Thumbjam, Samplr, BM2, Alchemy, iGrand, iFretless Bass, and Amplitube (at the moment - my least favorite modeler actually, but the only one who supports IAA with any consistency - BIAS freaks out memory under IAA for me after about 45 seconds or I'd say that one)
How did I forget Audiobus in my original post? Wow...I just take it for granted. None of this other stuff would even mean anything to me without Audiobus. Obviously.
Without any specific order: Audiobus, Auria, BIAS, iFretless, iGrand, Galilieo, Sampletank, Garageband, BS-16i, DM-1, AudioMastering and Loopy...I know that's 12..
I tend to go for mostly good recreations of real instruments (what can I say, I'm "old school"), so I use a lot of guitar, piano, B-3, Strings, real drum sounds etc...
Beatmaker2, Cubasis, Caustic, Looptical, Electrify NXT, Thumbjam, Unity, Alchemy, Sunrizer, iSem, then about 10 more synths and fx, (and Audioshare, Dropbox, and AB wrapping em all together)
JamUp, BIAS, GarageBand, MultiTrack, Drum Loops HD, NodeBeat HD, Audiobus, Dr-OM, SoundPrism and AUFXSpace.
These are pretty much all I need to get me to where I want to go. These things are such a blast to mess around with.
Honorable mentions go to Echo Pad and Magellan; being able to load these into the effects slot of Audiobus is just awesome.
Auria, Samplr, Animoog, Nlog Pro, ChordPolyPad, Thor, DrumJam, AUFX Dub, LaunchKey and Figure.
Dependant on mood.
Test (ignore this post)
Nanostudio, Loopy HD, audioshare, Echopad, aufx:space, sunrizer, iSem, dm1, auria, jam up.
Surprisingly, not that hard for me. I can do most of what I need with these 10 apps. Making me think I should delete my other music apps to stay focused. Except thumbjam, guitarism, aufx:dub, funkbox, nave and animoog.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Music Studio, Alchemy, Magellan Jr., SunrizerXS, FunkBox, Figure, Cassini, Sample Tank, Crystal Synth & I'd like to add Geo Synth, Sun Vox &/or Arctic Keys (even though I've never used those last three). I've been experimenting with the likes of GrooveMaker & Gestrument, and may want to keep some of them around. Still on a learning curve...
Addendum: I should, of course, add Garageband to the above. Right now I use it as my main recording app.
Loopy
Turnado
Bias
Samplr
Thor
Sunrizer
Nave
Auria
DM1
Caustic
These are my favorite albeit in the video there's no audiobus. All audiobus compatible. I'd be using imini more if Arturia bothered to implement midi channel selector.
Anyhow, my list: beatmaker 2, loopy, animoog, dm1, isem, sunrizer, magellan, liveFX (although buggy), imini, caustic (gets fiddly with bigger projects), thumbjam (for strings is luuuuush). I used tabletop for a bit and loved it but it got more and more buggy so uninstalled. Asphalt 8 is wicked too, got it uninstalled though it totally got me off making music
.
Cotracks (for jamming with others), chordion, Impaktor and ivoxel. Amen
@supadom Impaktor is one of those apps I never really use but can't bring myself to delete because it is amazing.
This time around, I'll choose:
Audiobus
Cubasis
Auria
AudioShare
Guitarism
Jam Up Pro
iFretless Bass
iSem
Alchemy
SampleTank
With all IAPs, of course! :-)
