What would be good is if an interface cable allowed midi and audio to be sent to and from one iPad to another iPad, an iPad DS in effect. Only problem with that it would take up both connectors, so a way of integrating external equipment, a keyboard etc. would be difficult.
Aren't you almost coming back to having a Pro running in split screen mode?! Plus with that, you get the advantages of the faster processor, more RAM, better built-in speakers and of course the larger screen when you need it - more tracks displayed in your DAW, more playable surface area, not to mention the liklihood of bespoke versions of some apps, or new apps altogether, which will be designed for the bigger screen. And if you do art as well on the iPad, it becomes a bit of a no brainer. I for one am certainly going to get one.
What I want to know is:
Has the amount of RAM been confirmed as 4GB? If so...
...will I be able to buy one before I go to Jamaica on holiday on 3rd December?
Does anyone know what it will be like working across 2 devices with the Pro?
Say I come up with something in Cubasis on my iPad Air 1, maybe using a few external apps and effects. I'd presumably have all the same apps on the Pro as on the Air
How easy and/or quick would it be to pull said project up on the iPad Pro and have the Pro playing EXACTLY what I had on the Air a few mins earlier?
Would I have to have both devices saving to iCloud? Could I Bluetooth / AirDrop? Or what?
The 4GB is as confirmed as it can be at this stage, and Apple said it would be launched in November, so you should be able to get it by your departure date.
What does that mean? It's either confirmed or it's not confirmed!
You never know, it might turn out to have 8GB
Well, Apple have a policy if not quoting the amount of RAM, and as it is not out yet, people can't test to see. But I have seen it quoted from several sources, including adobe who included it in a press release following their appearance at the launch event:
http://appleinsider.com/articles/15/09/10/apples-new-129-inch-ipad-pro-has-4gb-of-ram-doubling-ipad-air-2-
I woukd be amazed if it turns out to be different!
So, that's 100% not confirmed then.
Strongly rumoured, yes - but that press release could have been wrong. I know a lot of people who write press releases and many of them are idiots.
In this age of leaks, hype and PR spin it is still possible for things to surprise us.... up until a few weeks ago everyone thought the iPad Pro was going to have a USB port. How ridiculous that sounds now.
I think it is more than just a rumor when it is in Xcode, right? Pretty safe to say we'll get 4GB RAM. (edit: or not, I guess the Xcode simulator isn't confirmed as a sure way to determine a device's ram)

Last year I was dying to buy the Air 2 but I had know if it had 2 GB of RAM. The RAM was very important to me because of the amount of apps you could run at a time.
So on the day before the Air 2 was to be released I was on Twitter gathering Asian news links. All sources were saying that the Air 2 only had 1 GB of RAM. But then finally an Asian tech site got their hands on an Air 2 and the news was wrong. The Air 2 had 2 GB! >
check out what Derek posted over at the group.
so there you have it, if you're wanting to run ableton or reason on your iPad forget it

@kobamoto Thanks for posting the article. I was hoping there was going to be a OSX/iOS hybrid but I guess the case is closed.
Thanks for posting, in short the Mac will remain a desktop and the iPad a big phone and never the two shall meet and for sometime I thought MicroSoft were stuck in the mud. Unless.
Actually the thought of creating a hybrid filled me with dread - Apple are able to mess things up with a simple version change, so who knows what kind of mess a hybrid OS would be!
Apple are pros now at cocking things up. I don't know if they manage to piss game devs off, or any other app developers off to? Once upon a time, it was Microsoft, but now the "Boo Boo's" are in Apples corner. I wonder if this would ever happen if Steve Jobs was alive?
Maybe, but that's the thing with linear time, the future can be dreadful, now what fills me with dread is the level of worldwide corruption, that should worry everyone but it's just become a way of life, that we are all are complicit.
Im wondering how the hell i can fit this thing into my Google Cardboard VR Kit.
okay this guy is funny as hell, the facial expressions alone are worth the price of entry hahahaha
There are some cave cats!
is this accurate , i thought the air 2 was much faster than the mini 4, I like the size of the mini but thought I'd be losing too much power if I went with it.
Yup. I think my upgrade to the air 2 meant the same thing. Might just sell it while it still has some value and buy that new Moog.
