the real GalaxyExplorer has erased himself from soundcloud, right Cinebient?

Yep.... everything from Galaxyexplorer is erased forever.... send him back to space ;)

Well, the thing is that the whole things a true story anyway....!

  • I didn't mean to be a grump, at all. I was only commenting because I like it as it is and feel it could be even more so, but that's why I mentioned SOTMC, because that's a good place to share songs and views in a constructive manner.

  • I like that..is it downloadable ? Or purchasable anywhere ?

One of my all time favorite electronica albums happens to be produced on an iPhone (NanoStudio and and a pair of Sennheiser HD25 headphones).

  • Is the Galaxy explorer stuff available anywhere? I want to check it out mate..

    Yep, it's on Spotify.

  • Almost everything on the Apptronica label is iOS. Wide variety of stuff to be found there.

No, i deleted all tracks and work i made under it.... must be about 100 tracks :O
Now i wish i had still some of these tracks to rework and master them. I also made an album some years ago.
Maybe some things swirl around in the net somewhere since i made most of them for free download. However, i just found dead links myself :)

  • @Cinebient Pretty sure I have that album, if you wanted to revisit? :)

    Better not ;) But thank's!

  • Thanks @thinds for the Apptronica reminder.

  • For the average MOTS, I would definitely recommend "The Haunting of Sally Caster" album. It's very listenable and a great collab between two very distinguished and talented members of this forum. However ... I think it just might scare the shit out of a group of seniors ;)

I really like this album by Eli Bazini - Machinations. He popped onto the forum once, mentioned it was available, and then vanished. Extremely smooth, soothing and talented instrumental work, plus you get the added bonus of explaining what a steel tongue drum is. I'm still unsure myself, but the album is very pretty. Check out the end run on the second track, "Fireflies" - sonic nirvana:

Also, Emily Needs are quite good on the softer side of alt/pop. And lo! Behold! There are words! and Singing! Been a lot of girl-haunting this summer, with "The Haunting of Emily Needs":

    http://emilyneeds.bandcamp.com/album/the-haunting-of-emily-needs

(I think Doug, Colin and Emily Needs should collab for a followup - "Sally and Emily STRIKE BACK!")

Oh! Oh! One more - @mrufino1's band Shutterwax - their latest album "Dig Me A Well" was recorded in Auria and mastered (I think) by @Tarekith - plus they have words! and Sing!:

(I think Doug, Colin, Emily Needs and Shutterwax should collab for the real follow-up - "Sally and Emily STRIKE BACK after Digging A Well!")

  • And one more from our very own @TozBourne! I'll return to my seat now:

  • Ha....I hope I can corner this group for a few days with everything available!!

  • Looptical has some great iOS capable demos...

  • @eustressor, thanks for that comment! Just to clarify, it was only mixed in auria, recorded on so many different formats and in so many locations I probably forgot some.

Tarekith mastered one of the newer songs we did, not the album. He did a great job though and anyone looking for mastering he's fantastic.

Thanks so much for the mention though, that was very cool to see.

  • I didn't think about Looptical demos. That's a very capable app that I should bring out more. Thanks @Yendor.

@mrufino1 - Auria mixing qualifies! I want to showcase what can be done with a tool they probably aren't aware of.

Thanks for the mention. I've been away, and just now playing catch-up in the AB Forum!

Thank you so much for the mention, and I'm glad you enjoyed the album. I'm sorry I just found this post today by chance, and so late. You're right, I've been away from this forum for quite a while. This place is too dangerous; when you come here often you end up buying too many apps ;) .

    Hello,
I think I did something not so bad here...Cheated a bit as I've used a Mininova for the vocoder, and some bass, and a TC-Helicon for the voices on the chorus, but the rest is IOS. (with one iPad 4)

  • Nice job @crony , you have a nice groove going there!

  • These are substantially iOS, but usually not 100% iOS. If you go to SoundCloud, I include extensive notes on the backstory on how the tracks were made, which apps were used, etc. You usually have to tap on "Show More" to see the full notes. (Beathawk was a big part of it all.)

  • There's a guy named Doug that has a few albums with a guy named Colin.

  • @Lady_App_titude Synth Book, LOL. Nice one, I don't know how I missed that until now.

  • edited March 2017

This started off only iMS-20 + vocals in iOS GB, then got assembled in Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro X.

  • Ha! Thx, @Hmtx ! I'm still kind of experimenting with the whole iOS thing... My first couple of tracks were 100%. But I quickly realized there was no reason to give up the traditional tools, if they offered an easier or better option. l just try to make the best tracks I can... There may be an element of iOS parody in a lot of it, esp on a track like Synth Book. And obviously the enthusiasm of people like Jakob Haq has been a big inspiration....

I bet there is a lot of published music that was either conceived or roughed-out on an idevice, or even used on a track in the studio, but we will probably never know.

Anything that comes from me will be straight iOS for the foreseeable future.
