  • Huh, I like where this is going =)

  • Definitely looks tempting, hope it applies to Air 2 swell and not only the 'iPad Pro'. iSem is one of my favourites on the iPad and being able to run multiple instances would be sweet :)

  • Is that an iPad pro in the pic??

  • As far is i can see it's the iPad Pro in the pictures, looks waaaaaay bigger than my Air 2 :D

  • Oh yep, the tweet says it is... How did he get that??

  • Please, please, please... Alchemy. One day.

  • That's awesome I need a reason to go over to iOS 9 and more Audio unit apps coming out will make it more appealing.

  • Apple is gonna dangle the carrot, so you buy the Pro. It's ok if you have iPad 4 & want to upgrade. But if you just recently paid for Air 2, its quite cruel by Apple, not unless Apple can do it for Air 2?

  • Sweet nectar

They must differentiate, that's their job. It will be you telling me how lovely it is to have three iSems/Alchemys going at the same time which tips me over the edge and buy the new product. And that's all it is :)

    Plus a LOT!

You say differentiate, I say feed the demon beast. Tomato tomahto.

  • It would be nice to know if Apple actually frequents this forum?

  • Wait & see. Won't be long now Mr GoodYear. But we are all Speculating about Apple, apps, & helping/advice is possible for others on this fab Forum. That's why we're here(with a wee bit of cheeky humour to boot..... I think the Pro prob will be powerful enough to do this, or Apple wouldn't of created it me thinks?.....

  • I worry that the iOS music market could get fractured. We have iPhone apps. We have iPad apps. If this ends up only usable on the Pro, we then have a third category.

I suppose it may be usable for the Air size of iPad, but could you imagine using that setup on an iPad Mini?

  • @bsantoro Only the server-admins would know as they could have a look at the server logs and check who's been visiting the site (From Apple that's any visitors from 17.0.0.0/8). Would be interesting to know how often Korg, Yamaha, Roland and other big-name companies peek around too :)

Apple move in mysterious ways - proxy?

They don't need to listen to us or even acknowledge us but if they fail to observe us they are missing a potentially strategic opportunity.

  • The good news is that it is not an iPad Pro exclusive release.

Actually, I asked Rolf about it and he confirmed that it will run (at least) on an iPad Air.

  • Is there any information about multiple instances with regard to the AU's yet?

    Very pleased to hear this.

  • i would think it's just the regular old isem app with a minor tweak for audio units... so I would expect it'll run on ipad4 at least (but probably won't get too many instances out of isem at that level..)

  • Multiple iSems... nomnomnomnom

But seriously, how in the world did Rolf get that machine? @sebastian, we need beans spilled over here.

  • Update inbound? Alchemy? And all that glitters AU?

  • Apple have taken notice of the music app scene.. If they're giving iPad pro's to music app devs then that's good news.. Maybe logic is coming to the pro with audio units?

  • It is amazing that audio on IOS is being developed by Applle, but don't they know that midi sync is the true Achilles hill of the iOS music community?

  • If everything is operated as an AU inside a DAW then MIDI sync is a non-issue.

But I see your point and as of now I would rather have MIDI sync than Audio Units

  • I think I'd rather have nice working AUs to be honest. I don't find sync to be that bad in most of my use cases.

But I'd rather have both of course.
