MTS is genius.
I'm now loving it.
The midi drum mode is lovely. Just had it recording and then playing back DrumJam. It's great.
The song mode is also amazing. I've suddenly just 'got' how I can take my 32bar section - duplicate it for the chorus part, change it up, then duplicate it again etc... It's really a great feature having this 'macro view'.
Yah I did love the audio editing of Auria but had to get a refund to purchase Cubasis. once Auria Pro is out I will be dumping a bunch of my current cubasis recordings into it for editing. can't wait to see how it stacks up! if I can get a mobile workflow comparable to Samplitude on the PC (which Auria can export projects to and from) I will be a happy dude.
Well right now I am a pretty happy dude. Things going well with MTS now I've worked it out a bit more.
It has a few foibles, that's for sure (loss of audio is one) but they are at least consistent and I know that an app restart will solve it. For single chains of AB I think it's fine. Might get annoying having to keep restarting apps if you have a lot going on in AB though.
The clock send in MTS seems great for example. I've had it locked into DrumJam all evening and to my ear with DrumJam's quantise function they are pretty much locked solid. Very nice indeed.
I now want to find out a few things like whether you can duplicate a track. The limit on tracks, and that kind of thing.
@MF2K - looks like I'm late to the party, but I noticed you mentioned this as an option:
• stick mostly to Gadget then into Auria
This has been my workflow of choice for awhile, but a newcomer recently crashed the party - Beathawk into Auria makes for a great change of pace, maybe not so much on the MIDI side, but still very nice.
Cool.
I never got on with BeatHawk to be honest. I think I need the safety net / tweaking of midi.
2 MTS questions if anyone knows the answer:
can you quantise notes (during or after they've been recorded) in the piano roll somehow?
any swing setting I'm missing?
@Matt_Fletcher_2000
You can quantize recorded midi by capturing notes with the editing tool and opening the Edit menu, checking the quantize box, selecting 16ths or whatever, and the % of quantization.
Not sure about swing though.
@JohnnyGoodyear nice cartoon (now I've got a mission as I enter my winter years)
Wow... I totally forgot about Meteor!
Reinstalled and it can do as far as I've tested it everything that MTS can.
Just another option and it's cheaper for me because I've already bought it
What you think?
