I really hate politics and I don't want to start anything here but I hope you, your family, and friends are safe and ok @Flo26. It makes me sick when monsters attack innocent people.

  • Yes Flo - hope all is well with you at this time!

  • Murder of innocent people is not political.

    It is human.

  • Damn it. So sorry to hear about this

  • Hope you and friends and family are safe Flo!

  • Holy Hell! Just heard about this - to Flo and our fellow European forum members: Be safe! Be well! Yourselves and your loved ones!

  • My thoughts also went to Flo and our other French forum members. It is not political to hope that everyone is safe and well. Thoughts are with you!

  • Well wishes your way Flo. Frightening and heartbreaking.

  • Really thank you all. Your comforting words and your so touching attentions warms the heart.
This night was a surreal nightmare here in Paris and I could not get to sleep. This madness...
    Thanks again for your fraternity.
(Salut Flo. Fais de la musique. Fais ENCORE de la musique. Toujours PLUS de musique... C'est TOI qui a raison).

  • Wishing you and yours well Flo.

  • It's times like this I wish I was back in the States. :(

  • there are monsters in the states as well

  • Sometimes the price of freedom is hard to take. So saddened. My love and sympathy to all affected.

  • "liberte egalite fraternite" are human values, not just for France but for the World. We all stand with the French people today.

  • It is an ongoing global war of Islam versus the civilized world and it is beyond Orwellian how toxic it is to call a spade a spade.

  • Sorry @firejan82, but that's not how it is. Religious differences don't have to result in bloodshed and to blame Muslims for this just plays into the hands of the extremists. Most humans, irrespective of creed, would see these events in Paris as barbaric acts of self interest.

  • No, @firejan82, it is not that at all. Comments like that fan the flames of hatred. Islam probably made the most significant contribution historically to creating "the civilised world" of any religion. Surely there' s no room for thoughtless bigotry among a group of musicians? If our children - or their children - are ever to stand a chance of living in a more peaceful world, it's going to take more understanding, not less. This attack is no more about Islam than the Klu Klux Klan is about Christianity. I assume there are Moslems on this forum? Christians, too? Hindus? Buddhists? Atheists? So what? Your thoughtless knee-jerk reaction will not help the dead and wounded in Paris, or in Beirut where a similar attack last week killed nearly fifty and wounded over 200. Please don't post hateful drivel like this. A terrible, horrible thing has happened. Our thoughts are with our friends in France.

I've already been called a bigot mere moments after stating the obvious.

They shouted Allahu Akhbar as they were doing it.

And I know it's not all muslims. I acknowledge that. But it is Islam. Can you acknowledge that?

  • I'm so sorry to all the french people. As spanish, I understand (sadly) what terrorism is.

A difficult task due to the abundance of political and religeous self-interest stirring up marginalisation amongst the disenfranchised, but if the majority keep lines of communication open and encourage tolerance towards others we can ensure the mad, murderous bastards in the World remain a minority.

    Make music, not war.

According to the statement the music venue was deliberately targeted, because "idolatry".

Personally I do make the obvious distinction that islamists and muslims should not be conflated, but it does have to be acknowledged that there is a very nasty strain of Wahabist Islam that has captured the minds of a significant amount of people and driven them to extremism. This is a world where you can justify killing people because they go a concert you don't approve of, or are gay, or even just a different type of muslim, Shiites are also murdered in suicide attacks, for being the wrong sort of muslim.

Yes self interest, I agree. They were all interested in getting to paradise after dying while killing infidels.

And again I'm not saying all Muslims. But Islam is the problem. It needs a reform... I guess, I don't know how realistic that is. But there are great people who are Muslims who are trying to do just that - reform Islam... and they get called bigots for that...

  • I am sorry for all those who have died in this war of terror in which both sides have done unspeakable things to each other in the name of their god or in many cases just because they enjoy others suffering. I am sure it feels no better if you are in the Mid East or America or France or anywhere else when and if it happens to you or yours. Too much money to be made to think it is going to change. It is not going to stop, that is sad but true.

  • The world turns with lightspeed into an unwanted, shitty place. But it's not only the islamic fascism to blame here. Our goverments are guilty as well.Mind you, before 9/11 there were just 1000 "terrorists" hiding in the mountains between pakistan and afghanistan. Now,after 15 years of "war on terror" and "defending our democracy in Kunduz" we have 100.000 terrorists organized into an (islamic) state, millions of refugees and western countries that turn more and more into a 1984 nightmare.A very effective strategy, really.Stupid human being. My condolences to the people in paris and i hope all people, that i ever met (from) there, are alright.Peace.

  • There are Islamic terrorist acts happening all over the world, in places like India, Thailand, Philippines and China, you just can't blame the West and America for all that while ignoring the fact that they all shout Allahu Akhbar while doing it.

  • "This attack is being claimed by the group calling themselves ‘Islamic State’. There is nothing Islamic about such people and their actions are evil, and outside the boundaries set by our faith."

    • Muslim Council of Britain
  • Correct Jan , you can not blame just the west or the Mid East for something they both do to each other. Imagine if they had a war and no one came?

  • Perhaps one day when politics and banksters are no more.
