Those of you on iphone - note the + zooms the screen!
I've yet to update the manual - I thought Apple would be slower to review...
@Samu - sounds like a good idea, will build it in the next version.
thanks for the update. Ratcheting working now for monophonic synths (Tascam iU2 interface + MFB MIDI-CV into Eurorack). This is great.
And just discovered the + zoom button on iPhone 5. Thank you for porting midiSequencer to iPhone.
once zoomed.. how to pan the screen?
Huzzah! Thanks and congrats, Mr. T.
Small bug? Seems you can't set the lower limit unless you adjust the upper limit first. Jumps to F#8.
Small request? Would love to see octave buttons in here for quick limiting to 1, 2 or 3 octaves. Or perhaps that's better combined with the Key/Scale screen so it's easy to say from which note the octaves should start?
Seems like the start and end buttons work like I was thinking. So, in a running sequence like this (where X is off and O is on):
There's not a way to use the new [ and ] buttons to set, say, step three as the start because the sequencer never gets there. Unless I'm missing something! You can use the buttons within the step options, of course. Have those always been there? I heart them. But yeah, real time, including steps not currently within the active sequence would awesome.
Once zoomed, no panning. I might add an ability to zoom in three places (top, middle controls & bottom) - currently it zooms the difficult to press buttons at the bottom.
@syrupcore - upper & lower are fixed to never be reversed - ie lower cannot be higher than higher. I will test again to see if an issue exists. I think also it's limited by highest/lowest note in scales.
Using the keyboard from the chords screen would be good - see that in the next version.
@syrupcore - you can also use the [ & ] buttons in the skip button panel - infact it's easier.
The ones on the main screen require you to select '[' or ']' and then select a step. I'm thinking there may be an easier way of doing this than pressing leds - as this is what you do to set the start or end - you touch the led (or number) representing the step.
Sorry, really should have updated the manual!
@midiSequencer
Developer,
Your app is deep and intuitive, I found myself messed up with many midi apps. After refreshing playing, I am becoming more realizing midiSequencer is one of true jewels in this market. There maybe hard time for you to do the programming work, but intuitively this is actually the one I really want to say to others go and get this app! Congratulations.
BTW, I have patiently waiting your touch window based pattens interface for very long time. I am expecting it, I am also glad to pay the IAP upgrade.
This is a great app. Thanks for adapting it for iPhone.
Thanks for the iPhone version! It does function, though I came here to point out the display bugs that others already have. Some of those buttons are quite small on my 6s, though maybe that will improve if I use zoom.
Like I said, doodling with MIDI phrases is something I'm more likely to do when I have my phone on me, so this is great.
I can't seem to buy the midi IAP. The system just gives me chords. Possible bug?
@Kalkoo - it is a deep app - I've packed in as many hardware step sequence features as I can , except for multi-track - that's for a special update comming hopefully this year.
@StormJH1 - I had a real issue with the iphone 6 - more so than the 4s or 5 really. The + button should solve the bottom set of buttons being seen, and I'm now working on a way to zoom the top half too.
If this works ok, then fine, otherwise I might have to do something more to improve the iphone6 display.
@Audiojunkie - it should work for both? It's hard to test this exactly - anyone else have this problem?
Let me know what it tells you?
ok, just tried it on an iphone4s - try it using the Fx button in the main sequencer screen.
So there might be a problem with the main menu version (even though it's the same code??).
For the chords, it's also possible to purchase via the Skip Button Panel - 'chord' button.
If you bought it - when you go into the IAP screens - it should show a scroll up message of 'Already Purchased'
If you own the ipad version it (meaning Apple with your Apple ID) should recognise you already purchased it, so you only need to restore.
iPhone 5 with ios 7.1.2... The app instantly crashes upon loading. Tested it on my iPad 4 also on 7.1.2. Instacrashes. In both cases the app instance continues to run in the background. It seems the app can't be displayed.
@Coloobar - yep seems there are issues on IOS7. Working on a fix. Might need some info from you (console log)
I'm looking to drop IOS7 support soon, but will get this fixed.
Aha! That makes way more sense. I kept thinking that pressing either [ or ] would set whatever the active step was at the time it was pressed to the new start/stop. Two presses brought all that you said previously into focus. Cheers.
so things I'm investigating with the view to a fix before next weekend:
1) IOS7 crashes at startup - IOS7 is difficult to support, but I'm going to try an resolve why it crashes at startup.
2) Limit controls - lower limit gets stuck at f#8 - now fixed
3)Rotator FX - midi note off missing for actual note off in midi input - working on next.
4) IAP midi fx not being restored unless go through the skip button panel
and additional is:
iphone zoom on top of screen(and will therefore include sliders in the middle too) - almost done
Bought this after a long time on my wish list. Universal was enough to clinch it, only issue is the real estate on iPhone 6+ as so much not used
Thank you for your dedication good sir. Sorry about the iOS 7 issues and Apple's shitty stance on making it easy for developers to debug older OSes.
Pure curiosity question... Will the new multitrack app UI be rendered bitmaps again or are all the different screen sizes persuading you to go vector/rendered?
