I can't remember where I saw it posted, but I heard that Korg has said that they will have Audiobus/IAA. I purchased the app, and spent an afternoon with it......
I'm being really honest when I say this--it seems to me that Caustic is a MUCH better deal as it is right now. I have both (plus many others), and this app doesn't seem to me to be anything special. I'm disappointed, really. Comments?
@Audiojunkie you are correct AB / IAA is coming to iDS-10. I wouldn't directly compare it to Caustic but I love both apps anyway.
I compare the two apps to each other in the broadest sense only, as in, they are both standalone apps. They both have multiple tracks which can each have a synthesizer or drums. I think the only real difference, is synth tone and scope of the app. I think for the $10, caustic offers much more.
Of course Caustic wins in terms of function varieties. But, iDS-10 is so sexy and tight as a virgin!
Plus, she came from the famous family and has hereditary gene!

I would absolutely agree that Caustic is a much more powerful app than iDS-10, as it offers way more. I would argue that Caustic may be the best value on iOS, period.
That being said, the immediacy of iDS-10 has some value as well. Caustic can be confusing and overwhelming to some at first, whereas my young daughters were making tracks with iDS-10 with very little assistance.

are all you guys running the latest iOS os?
Cool. Audiobus, etc. But they need to de-greasify the knobs next update. You barely touch them and they go all Nigel Tufnel on you, "These go to 11."
They're fast but pretty fluid. You can tap the knobs to bring up a slider to get more fine tuned adjustments in case you didn't know about that feature.
Fine tune is nice but the knobs could use a little "friction" IMHO.
No comparing this with Caustic. Now that it has AB, IDS-10 is great for making loops to dump into Caustic.
Work flow is tight, I just have to say it is so fluid to sequence anything. I am considering it the best finger fluffing app. If Auria were this fluid, I will name Auria the champion super DAW!
I must say again fluid music notes filling (including modulations) is essential for all iOS apps.

I purchased iDS-10 as soon as I saw that the AB/IAA capability was going to be added. So it's good news to see that added so quickly in this 1.1 update. The lack of even CoreMIDI capability (plugging in a keyboard), let alone virtual MIDI (driven by other software), is a little baffling to me (especially since the on-screen keyboard is not the greatest), but I expect it will be added in the relatively near future.
I still have a lot to learn about how to navigate in iDS-10, but I do see glimpses of great potential in there. As with anything Korg, the sound quality is top notch.
Is it completely monophonic, though? Maybe I'm missing some settings. I have iMS20, and thought had both monophonic and polyphonic presets.
Totally agree about the knobs - the precision feature is nice, but they should work a lot better than they do in linear fashion. It's like a small target area to find them, and then they are too touchy when you do lock on.
Compared to something like Caustic, though, come on. iDS-10 is basically a limited synth dressed up with a sequencer and some DAW features. You can do a lot with what's givent to you, but it's basically a 2-oscillator synth that you can use twice, and vocoder, plus a synth drum engine with a few different waveform options. Caustic is full suite full of various synths, beatboxes, samplers, etc. And it's much more open-source in its ability to add external content from a variety of file types. iDS-10 may be capable of some much nicer sounds, but it'd have a long way to go to match the flexibility of something like Caustic.
I shall make a note in the prestigious Finger Fluffing category of our non-existent End of Year Awards.

Having AB/IAA takes it out of toy category a little bit, but I would sure like it to have full MIDI and LINK capability. Then I will like it much, much more!!
Never liked Caustic and deleted long ago but it is worth the money I agree, just not for me.
Curious, why didn't you like it? If it was the interface (which it was for me when I first got it), there's a ton of beautiful themes found on the official forum for Caustic. Once I did the interface lift, I've been in love with it since!
