  • Has anyone tried using drumagog in Auria with rock drum machine?

  • Well, I clicked the button. :)
I'm enjoying Funk Drummer a lot.

I'm finding that choosing appropriate individual instruments, and also playing around in the editor to choose the lower velocity hits works very nicely to create a less intense vibe. Also, I've been able to make some pretty nice sounding standard light rock patterns.

I kindof wish there were both a highhat and ride option, not just one cymbal. :)

But, the BIG thing I wish for in an upcoming version of either RDM or FD is a jam intensity for the fills. If I build a nice groove with 8th notes on the HH and then a fill comes in with 16th note triplets or 32nd notes, it's way too big! And, if I've got that groove up at 130 or so, the fill sounds totally spastic and unrealistic. :)

but @LuisMartinez I am so happy that this app is accessible for blind users. I'll try and send you some suggestions on making it even more usable by blind users if you'd like. :)

My feelings exactly. Having a lot of fun with this one!

  • Does Funk Drummer support rendering quantized loops, and then Open In or Audiocopy those rendered loops? Really hope it does.

Otherwise, how do you export perfectly synced loops, manually sync recording via Audiobus / IAA? In that case what's the best app combo for that purpose?

When RDM will be updated and come with the same features as FD, what will be the differences between them ? In other words, between RDM and FD will the only difference be the samples pack (and, of course, the patterns style) ?

  • Yes, I'd be curious to know if, aside from the upgrades in Funk Drummer, if there are any differences between these apps asside from samples and patterns.
Now, not that those aren't big differences, but if that's it, then it would be awesom to have one app, with ALL styles and samples. :)

    Fun software. :)

    Double plus agreed.

I actually find this app (and the others in the stable, which I also have) quite confusing. I know, me not them. However as fill snippets and 4 bar rhythm meat (TM) they're still worth the pennies..

Does RDM currently have 3 velocity levels x 3 round robin samples (so 9 samples) per instrument as FD does?

I remember reading a comment that the RDM snares sounded a bit machine-gunney, which led me to believe there wasn't much variation in the samples.
  • @JohnnyGoodyear: Good move slapping the TM tag on "rhythm meat." I would have lifted that for sure.

You know me Mister Ben, I'm a post-ironic kind of guy. Can't imagine ever really trade-marking anything :) It's weird, I was thinking of the same issue (I guess it's a common modern issue...) this very dinner hour. One of my Tumblr incarnations just hit a viral reblog with an old idea of a Peter Matthiessen thought which I (or this other incarnation of me anyways) wrote about a few years ago and then suddenly my notifier thingie started going mad as I was eating my steak frites. 5,000 reblogs in half an hour. The machine's still smoking as we speak. So random....but, hey, if it leads folks to reading Mister M, payment indeed....

  • Wow, lots of comments... Thank you so much. And lots of requests .Brilliant ideas, but please, let me update RDM and others with the new things for the moment. Adding more would take too long. Step by step.

Talking about the price, it's an introductory offerf for the first week, the same thing happened when RDM 2 was released. The price will be increased next tuesday and same will happen with the next update for Rock Drum Machine.

    thesoundtestroom Cool Doug! Thanks!

@Fitz Yes, I have it in mind, but before let's update all this.

" Hmm, sounds more drum machine like than rock drummer (I know thats not real either) . Are the funk snares any good, you need a sick piccolo snare for ripping funk. "

mmm.. it shouldn't. Believe me, the round robin makes a good job with that. And... yes, there are some piccolo snares.

syrupcore Yes, the incoming clock overrides the inner. Implement changes of tempo is not "on the list" at the moment ... I think is able to follow, but isn't accurate.

And now,  talking about updates... In some cases I would like to know the users preference to work on some features. Small polls would be ideal. Maybe on facebook... anyone knows a good tool to make quick polls  ?

The XY pad is new (coming from their most recent app)

  • Nice. Looks like some of the new Jazz Drummer features got incorporated.
Drummers, X/Y pad, Humanize settings, toggle Ride and Cross Stick, etc.

It’s a tweet from Lumbeats stating so.
The exploding dots icon is new, as is the “trackpad” and the two buttons to the right one of which is about the ride cymbal.

  • I can't wait to see updates to all his apps to include the export features - having that for Funk, Soft and Reggae drummer would be sweet.

  • Swert love all his drum apps! So realistic!

  • I really looooooove lumbeat apps...really, I mean it
They’re very intuitive, classy, realistic, you name it...
    ....BUT, WHAT THE FORK !!!
Is that white dude (or is it a girl?) with long hair
and crab claws necklace really  « evocative » of Nate Smith ?

    COME ON !!!

  • Wow! This just gets better + better.. need me some Clyde.. can’t wait..

  • Guess I will have to add this one to my collection... Can’t wait for Future Drummer update..

  • is this updated yet?

  • The best gets better !!! Thanks Luis!

  • need some dry as the desert crackin kits, so dry that your lips chap when you hear them

  • My battery has been draining lately so I checked the battery stats and it seems Funk drummer has been running in the background a lot. Last 24 hours 1m on screen, 22h in the background.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is there a cure?
