  • I heard that Auria Pro is going to be dual screen and made for the Nitendo DS, due to an app swap scheme devised by Korg!

    All very exciting! :)
  • This is where I photoshop Auria onto a DS......wait a minute......

    I'm afraid of minimum requirements.
  • I just hope it works on my Air2, or might have to save up for the Air3 when it appears!
  • We'll have to say, it does look the biz and love the support for big sample libraries.

  • Reading more into it, if this runs well on an iPad below the Air1, I will be surprised.
  • Beautiful!

  • I think The Auria Devs may have just done more for the iPad Pro cause than Apple has so far!

If it ran on your current iPad, this version will run it as well, and if nothing has changed in recent times, just as well. The only difference between Auria and this update are numerous of bug fixes etc, and a different skin. The Pro version mixer allows for a lot more goodies, but as with any DAW that is up to the user to manage.

Agreed, but how many of us will not be trying out mad bus mixing and crazy realtime warping hehe :D

    It's no secret!  ;)
  • External hard drive support?? Wow.

Where did these screenshots come from?

What usually taxes the system the most in the current version are things like using over sampling in the FabFilter plugs, or complex things going on in Saturn or the Multiband Comp. But when they were released on iOS years ago, I was quite surprised how well they ran on an ancient iPad 2. Will def. be fun to see how Q2 & C2 behaves. The FabFilter synths, I have Twin2, it sounds smooth as hell (got great filters;), but doesn't really tax my system at all, so got high hopes for that on iOS :)
  • I wonder if in the future they could do sample streaming off external harddrives?
  • @syrupcore directly from the WML website.
  • The main hit on performance is going to be the way changes to the buffer size is handled.

In previous versions of Auria the buffer was set to 4096 during mixing, which allowed for a lot of plugins to run concurrently. But with the new MIDI tracks any project that uses them will have to use a maximum buffer size of 512 to ensure acceptable MIDI playback, and that will obviously have a major impact on performance.

The thing to do will be to freeze or bounce MIDI tracks down to audio prior to final mixing, which will then allow for higher buffer sizes.

Shhhh, I'm trying to use this as an excuse for an iPad Pro.....don't let my wife know that I don't really need one ;)
  • It's official, Auria Pro is going live today!

    Ah, makes sense.
  • Buffer sizes are adjustable, and if you don't use MIDI tracks in your project, you can easily set this to 4096 for the best possible CPU efficiency.

    Hehehe

  • If if someone is not sure about performance on his idevice, he can still buy Auria and upgrade to Pro later.

    Good idea!
  • It ran well on my iPad air1, although I'm not a heavy midi user.
