I think one of the midi modes allows for just that (pad pr. channel)
I can only send midi to the selected pad. Can't find any way to give each pad a selected midi channel.
Unheck on the preferences the "send to selected pad" .
Could someone help me here? How can I delete a folder I made in user library? Or rename it? Also when importing a sample ,is there a way to put it on a specific folder?
AH HA!
This is one of the great 'how can you know if you don't know' puzzles of this app
To rename a folder ('directory') or an individual file, hold TWO fingers on the file/folder concerned. This acts like a 'right click' and you get the option to rename or delete.
As for putting imports into a specific folder, the only way I do this is by creating a folder first and then pasting into it....
I have been thinking about this app and why I like it or what it's USP might be and I think, intangible as it is, that this app 'creates' more happy accidents than almost any other...
I had to reinstall the whole app to get the midi to work. With all those IAPs it's such a pain lol
I ignored it in the beginning because it seemed too limited for my taste but i saw that it supports IAA sync now and it peaked my interest again. The interface looks great.I have some questions though:how reliable is sync and the app in genral (crashes?bad performance/ram hog etc?)?it has only two and a half stars in the german store but the bad reviews doesn't contain much useful info other than that some people want more features.Anyone tried it with Auria (Pro) already?
Sorry, I use it a fair bit and may be able to answer some specific questions, but I am not a syncer (as yet). Overall I find the performance good. The UI is quirky but effective. I know the devs. are still at work (a big issue for me these days), but I find I simply MAKE things with this app. Things happen.
It work perfectly in sync with Auria Pro.
That's great to read,i might give it a try then. Thanks for your impressions as well @JohnnyGoodyear
I also have been able to successfully import my own custom Apple Loops (.caf) files directly from iCloud Drive. They sync perfectly to tempo changes. I have hundreds of Apple Loops on my Mac; which I can copy to my iCloud Drive and directly import into BeatHawk on the iPad. Many are used in GarageBand on my Mac, which I extract and use in BeatHawk. There are many that can be gotten from the internet.
I could not get sync to work with Auria 2.0 (not pro). That does not seem right though.. Sync was always included in regular Auria, so either I'm doing something wrong, or we need to have a word with Rim :-)
I just got my first expansion to this - the Blues Guitar pack. But I have found that when playing one of the guitar instruments over a simple pattern, the pitch varies horribly, up and down by about a semitone, making it sound dreadfully out of tune. It is fine when the pattern is not playing. I am using an iPad Pro so it is not lack of horsepower. Puts me off getting any more - anyone else experienced this?
@BastienCo Having just been recording in some guitar samples....I would like a quick way (x) to delete the 'Recorded' text that is positioned as placeholder text when naming the sample. Getting very tedious to Click and backspace delete it each time.
Thanks.
Did you turn on "Send Clock" MIDi Settings in Auria Pro; pick Auria Pro in Audio/MIDI Preference in BeatHawk; and make sure the "HOST SYNC" button is highlighted in BeatHawk?
Double-tap on "Recorded". It will select the word.
@anickt
I had tried this earlier and found that the plastic screen cover in my new griffin survivor case has a bit of gap and was complicating this gesture enough for it not to work.
Now I see with a little more determination it works. Thanks.
It may not be apply to anyone here, but if anyone is having problems, I've just found a reinstall has solved al my problems.
Life lesson here my friend
Self-taught too. Impressive eh?
Using IAA and the Host Sync button were key to making it work... :-)
Works with Cubasis and Auria now, however with Auria, the first beat is considtently missing (whatevers on 1.1.1), not the case with Cubasis. If in song mode happily Beathawk lets you offset the first part, so you can start your whole project on the second bar.
Thanks for the help!
@RigVader: you mean Beathawk is missing the first beat whenever it repeats his own pattern or when Auria is running in a loop and returns to the first bar?
I picked it up on this sale and i like it a lot but i have an issue with IAA
The host control panel from Garageband doesn't show up. Can anyone who has BH and GB confirm it works for them?
I mean when go to the start of the time line in auria and press start :-)
BeatHawk shows up in GarageBand and records fine. It even syncs tempo to Garageband.
Thanks for checking
Yea, it shows up in GB for me as well but when i switch to BH the small IAA host control panel is missing
Hey, I checked that and I noticed that if text is something like "recorded(3)", double tap won't select the "(3)" as well, so there is annoying extra clicks there.
I added a "clear" button on the right, this will be in next version.
Yes I noticed this too. Deleted my saved recording named 'recorded' to combat this.
Your clear button solution will be perfect though, thanks!
Is there virtual midi functionality for the app? I tried to play a pitched sample using Soundprism Pro without Luck. Midi settings were set to 'send to pad'.
Enjoying using the app, thank you.
I find BH works well with GB (never tried it before! ). I don't get the little panel either nor do I know how to set it up to sync, but I'm sure that's simply user ignorance on my part. Records just fine...
Absolutely. I just miss the little panel:)
As for sync, there is a host sync button in BH in the lower right corner
As mentioned, I know these guys are still on it and expect more stuff from them shortly..
