Yes, it's been broken for a while, fortunately if you use the "open in" fonction in audioshare (to samplr) everything is fine !
I still hope that this will be fixed, it's like a reminder of how things are fragile on iOS
i've been using the latter lately. any advantages of audioshare?
have never had a Samplr crash since I started using it.
ok what the fudge!!! for the first time Samplr crashed on me just now, and it did it 3 times when I was simply copying some files from audio share over, via copy paste (not open in) what the hell kind of curse just hit my iPad?
also open in does not work right, it does not open the file in the samplr slot you choose, but instead starts importing to the first free slot? I used to be able to choose.
Helen's in her handbasket and I think we should fear the worst for this world....
I don't know what's worse, Samplr not working or samplr not working.
This app intrigues me, albeit I still don't have it. Is Sampler in the same league of the desktop aplications (EXS24 etc)? Obviously taking in notice the hardware limitations...
Sorry, too dumb/inexperienced to make meaningful comparisons with EXS24 etc., but be sure that this is a great and unique piece of kit.
Cool, Johnny. Just for clarity, I was asking about how it compares with EXS24 or Halion or any desktop application as a sample editor: obviously there is no way of any iPad app to have desktop-grade sample playing, libraries etc... yet (but keep watching Lyra, hehehe)
No worries. I recuse myself and call upon the expert testimony of others etc. I think I will keep the wig however...
Trying to compare exs24 with samplr is like trying to compare an Audi with a helicopter, I can't shortly describe all that it does, you should find a lot of videos on you tube
It's one of the best iOS app as it is unique to iOS
different animal than exs24, Samplr is a phrase sampler but what makes it special is how you interact with the samples in the various modes, it comes with a basic motion sequencer to sequence your phrases together.
League of its own
I tend to sample synth /FX loops into audioshare from gadget via audiopaste. Once in auduoshare choose loop then share button, open it and the sample appears in the slot I have selected previously in samplr. No crashes no problems. I always use wav tho as I found Aiffs while supported can't be exported out of samplr.
I'm on air 2 8.4
this is what I do as well, the problem is that for some reason today I cannot select the Samplr slot of my choosing for the audio to open into...... no matter what i select it just goes to the first empty slot starting on the right sequentially.
What IOS are you running?
i'm on 9.0 ipad mini 4
Maybe that's the crucial difference?
Probably Samplr working and us not realizing it.
This am I was able to send Dropbox file to Audioshare and send to Samplr no problems. I did open A-Share previously so the import prompt was present.
God I love Samplr. Best overall IOS exclusive music making app for me.
I feel so in touch with what I produce with Samplr.
I have been taking some great riffs from IMaschine2 lately into Samplr for some cool stuff. I love some of the deep, industrial, and modular sounds from Native Instruments.
Throwing them into Samplr over some tricked out Latin percussion and a rich analog bass from Synthmaster and my morning is straight. Come back for vocals tonight.
Not that anyone cares.
I love ripping old 40's and 50's swing loops with anytune, converting them with audioshare and off to samplr. Instand Mr. Scruff/Matthew Herbert with some ambient noises thrown in. Probably quite distant from your industrial @RustiK but Samplr delivers in any style, really.
I'm keeping my ipad2 frozen as is with a working copy of Samplr in case it ever does become abandonware
Just make sure you keep it with meat and fish, the battery will thank you for it
I have absolutely no idea what that means but am now worried that I should...reminds me of the HST Pendleton shirt story.
