thanks for the info mathew, does the dev visit the forum much it would seem that he could fill in the gaps pretty easily. people want to know if there is folder organization for the samples etc...
I can't wait for this to drop... we have really been spoiled with quality drum apps this year on the iOS platform!
There is a DP forum for any questions. http://www.drumperfect.nl/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=3
AFAIK there is no folder system for samples. There are folders for presets, so maybe it's possible. During beta Marinus throws new builds out very regularly, so he's really working on this. Make your requests known maybe?
@hellquist - As per the manual in my current version of DrumPerfect (not Pro) "in case of exporting to Dropbox, separate track export will save an individual track file to Dropbox for each active instrument."
I've had the non-pro version for some time, and I recognize the potential. I've just never put the dues in. I really should...it has amazing capabilities!
Ah. Good. Thanks. Didn't think there was a difference between the different save methods, but now as you mention it, I admittedly only tried to AudioShare, not Dropbox. I shall do some more testing of that then, after I've shown the pillow who's the boss.
thanks Fitz I will look him up, samples and sample folders should always go hand in hand imho.
DrumPerfect is on par with StudioDrummer and BFD on PC, but more for the feature set and power it has. As far as interface and workflow go it can be clunky at times. But aside from some cosmetics and a few menu hurdles it is incredible. It is an app that requires patience...it is not like DM1 or the MPC type drum machine apps where you have a groove in seconds. It is more for constructing real acoustic sounding drum parts and multitrack productions. The ability to send each part of the kit on its own output is beyond cool for iOS...yes commonplace in desktop and hardware machine realms but really kickass on the small mobile iOS platform.
Can't wait to see what DrumPerfect Pro will bring to the table and here's hoping that those who've been loyal users for awhile get a decent break on the price of admission.
from what I can tell drum perfect pro is going to be a separate app from the original drum perfect not an upgrade? how much will it cost? also, will there be a discount for loyal drumperfect customers?
awesome! I'm excited to get the new version. very excited to see pads available in the new version.
Still one more day left to make the deadline
Smooth and affordable? Hope so.
Sounds like a generic laxative. Hopefully it will surpass my favorite drum app, which is its brother.
Let me clarify: Johnny's last comment reminded me of a cheap laxative, not the app. I didn't mean to start any crap.
Will we be able to input via midi keyboard?
@noisehorse technically, it would be the laxative starting the crap.
I think there are many different methods for inputting laxatives. I've heard.
I thought you could already use a midi keyboard? And control many features using midi. If not, you will be able to.
Has anyone been able to import midi drum files into drumperfect?
I get no sound when I do. Yet it works perfect in Cubasis.
I assure you, that you won't be disappointed... I helped with testing the sequencer part on Pro version and the results are like comparing a Renault to a Tesla...
Not only that, but it can be sequenced by external sequencers , which is something that most drum machines are not capable of.
Also velocity sensitive....Where is it? I don't know, should have been here before NY....
It's already bought in my book.
I know for sure I can get sounds out of DP via the pads on my external midi keyboard. I haven't actually verified if I can do the pattern input via the keyboard, but it would surprise me if I couldn't, right? Just press record and tap away should do it I was thinking.
I have noticed the key mapping for the drum sounds in DP differs to for example Auria Pro. Could it be that? So the midi notes are there alright, but there aren't any instruments on those notes as far as DP is concerned? Just thinking out loud here...
To clarify: pads in DPP can be assigned to any note on external midi controller.
There is also a big selection of midi CC learn that covers most needed features from stop, run, record, etc.etc.... I think even patterns, kits, scenes are midi programmable...
I found the best and fastest way to put notes in was with velocity sensitive keyboard midi controller ...
Otherwise a whole sequence can be recorded directly from a sequencer/controller.
Imported Samples are put into folder and can be loaded directly into One of 16 slots, (each drum has 16 samples possibility) and can be prelistened.
I'm no longer sure what DP none pro can and can't do. I had to download it recently and had to beg Marinus to release pro as I couldn't live without it. It's amazing, and also amazingly better than non pro!
I know that in pro you can either select patterns using cc's or program change. It used to be that you couldn't turn program change messages off but that's been resolved.
Is there a chance that the midi in pro can be set for GM general midi standard to match my midi drum tracks? They play nice in Cubasis but I don't know how to edit them to play at all in drumperfect.
Sorry double post
IIRC, the midi assignments for each drum is configurable, but there is no way to globally change them, which is what I'm after. Lyra drums conform to the GM standard, and I'd like to get to point where I don't have to reassign mappings in apps or hardware all the time
On the positive side, it is very easy to map midi. Choose instrument, press midi learn, play pad, move to next instrument. On the negative, unless this had been addressed, you save this map with the kit. So if you have lots of kits...
It is in the store and getting closer. Interesting times.
did you say drum Perfect pro is in the App Store?
