    Hi there,

New comer to this forum, I would like to share with you some details about DPP ( DrumPerfect Pro ) on which we have been working with Marinus, during 2014-2015.
I took care of the graphic design, and creation of the music content, including the 6 packs available as IAP.

After reading your questions, I prepared this list:

First of all, it has been ( and still is ) a great joy to work and learn, from an amazing app like DPP. As a musician, I can't help being so stimulated and inspired each time I put my hands on it. And that happen because of the extraordinary depth of this digital drummer that anyone can carry anywhere, any time, in its iPad.

    Facts:

    • Ableton Link connect DPP and any other app, ALink ready. Inside iPad as well as outside. Only on iOS 8 and later.
    • All instruments can be exported as individual stems/tracks ( mono or stereo ), for further processing, in high end apps like Auria Pro or Cubasis. And/or as a stereo mixdown to any other audio app, including DPP itself.
    • A new Quick Start has been integrated to DPP, visual and very detailed.
    • The packs have all been created on iPad 4, so now you know that it works fine...
    • Patterns can be conveniently organized in categories that you can freely create, to simplify their management. Categories for samples will be available in next updates.
    • We are planning to create a series of YouTube short tutorials to explore in depth the huge possibilities offered by this Pro version.
    • data ( patterns ) creation can be done in many ways, in DPP:
    • on the sequencer - Pattern or/and Grid view
    • import of midi files
    • external keyboard, midi controller, etc...
    • live playing on the 32 highly sensitive pads or stage drum kit ( see video )
    • and last but not least, installing ready made professional grade patterns, included in IAP packs. You can then copy, modify, change tempo, swing, append them, etc...
    • let's add also that Midi control is available for most of the app commands, as well as some features like Linked Sets.

Perhaps we could say that DrumPerfect Pro of course is an app, but that it can be seen also as a ( digital ) musical instrument. As such, it will reveal its tremendous musical potential as we learn to play/program it, and perhaps even master it. So, yes, there is a learning curve.
That said, to ease this learning curve, and to incr-ease the fun side, we created a rich collection of packs, all packed ( no pun intended ) with patterns, samples, full songs and a PatBank for easy overview/listening of the content.
More packs in various styles/instruments are in preparation.

DrumPerfect Pro v.2 requires iPad 3 or later, iOS7 or later.

    Hope this helps.

    Very soon,

    Gilbert

    Thanks Gilbert, any sign when?

Thanks for the detailed breakdown, I am looking forward to seeing and hearing more when it is launched.

  • I'm really looking forward to this! Thanks for the update. Any idea how much I will cost to upgrade for us loyal users?

  • Will the non-pro version be updated with the new graphic design (like Rim made in Auria non-pro v.2) ?

  • edited January 2016

@Gilbert, first off thanks so much. Looking forward to this release. Along with many of the features it was the following I am crossing my fingers over most:

We are planning to create a series of YouTube short tutorials to explore in depth the huge possibilities offered by this Pro version.

In the excitement of a release and after all the hard work leading up to it, folks can sometimes forget or underestimate how important good demos/tutorials are and how they can be a major asset to sales, especially through the word of mouth that comes from satisfied customers.

    Best of luck.

  • Wow - also works on iOS7. That will be epic for the older devices in my Legacy Orchestra.

Can't wait for this to drop.

Any idea what might be holding the app up in apples approvel que? Seems as though their taking longer with DrumPerfect Pro, then they did with Auria Pro.

  • Guessing the were some problems or they were rejected for the first round. Just have to speculate without any updates here.

  • Would be good business to tell some of the noisier punters what's what...

Yep, agree. But then you just know the dev is so good about communicating with everyone here. It makes you wonder..what could be so important that you would ignore the blogs for a spell?...wait...I get it...

  • Excellent update. Now for the "when". I have been refreshing appstore twice a day since mid december waiting for this. :)

  • yep, everybody is waiting for this app. It seems as though the Apple Holiday break has slowed down the app review process by a few days. It shouldn't be much longer. Glad to know I am not the only app junkie constantly checking to see if DPP has dropped yet.

  • it was submitted on the 21 st of Dec. no? Stuff submitted later is out so it was rejected for some reason or other or perhaps a problem with the upgrade path perhaps? Apple has rules for that sort of thing, don't they? Guessing the developer is very busy fixing the problem and perhaps that is why no word is out. A heads up would be appreciated however.

stuff submitted later than the 21st is out already ? interesting.Thats good news I guess. Cool, hopefully the developer gets modified and approved soon can't wait!

  • Hi,

Posted on FB ( 6 hours ago ):

Hi all who are eagerly waiting for the release of DrumPerfect Pro,

I'll spare you the details, but the path to release isn't always as smooth as one would want.

Please have a bit more patience. We are doing everything we can to release DPP as soon as possible!

Thanks for your understanding and support,

    Gilbert and Marinus

  • Ahhh... Don't spare us the details, Gilbert!

  • anybody heard any more on what happened with drumperfect pro? I know things didn't go as smooth as they had anticipated. wish we had more details as to what is going on, and how much longer the wait might be. I know I have money cued up I my iTunes account ready buy it as soon as it drops.

  • I have been saving some iTunes cards and would really like to know what this and the in apps are going to cost. If it is more than I like I have a couple of other apps in mind but really hope this is sorted out soon before I drop the money elsewhere and then have to wait to replenish my funds.

  • I could not stop myself and bought rytmik my app addiction got me again so hold on buddy I still have 12 dollars credit left so hope that's enough to upgrade/finish bundle for Drum Perfect Pro
