Forgot to say, right now I am looking to figure out animoog program changes specifically although it will be my first time doing program changes in general.
Finally bought Animoog. It sounds gorgeous.
HOWEVER! I was a little put off that the 4 Track Recorder is an IAP. This seems like a dirty trick, a little bit. It's not like buying extra presets, or paying for an extra gadget (like Bilbao) in Gadget. This is a piece of the app that is not functional until you pay up. Seems kind of wrong.
There seems to be a way to get the 4 Track for free, but the wording is a little squirrely, and after giving my personal information, it didn't work.
I suppose I need the 4 Track. And the Midi Out.
PS: Just tried again and the email was actually sent. (Different wifi? Who knows.) Still doesn't work, because I think it's probably keyed to my iTunes Store email, which has long been shut down. All this effort to save $5!
I'm not sure the 4 track works 100%
Correction?
Maybe why they don't include it or push it.
Haven't tried it in long while though.
But I think I agree, if you're paying full price for the app should probably get the 4 track with it.
I have to disagree about the 4 track recorder IAP being different from Bilbao in Gadget and especially your view of it being like a dirty trick.
I view Gadget, like Animoog, as one app. Bilbao is simply a piece of the Gadget app and its functionality is locked until you pay the IAP. Plenty enough other apps charge to unlock functionality for it to be the acceptable norm and not, as you say, like a dirty trick.
I will add a caveat though; the 4 track recorder doesn't appear in the list of top 10 IAPs for Animoog in the App Store. This isn't Moog's fault though, as it's not up to them which of the IAPs are the most popular.
That said, I have experienced IAP frustration myself (especially with IKM's apps). You fork out a lot of money for the app, only to discover the plethora of useful/functional IAPs within. Each piece of extra functionality has to be evaluated. If you think you'll take advantage of that function, and can afford it, it's probably worth it. If it doesn't tick the right box, don't buy it.
If, however, you're an appaholic like me, you'll buy every shiny app and every IAP in site to compensate for your lack of productive creativity
Good man. Be aware you are by no means alone. There is a vast army of us all weeping proudly in our somewhat shiny basements...
Thanks man. It's comforting to know I'm not really alone in that shiny, expensive basement.
Well, I don't want to split hairs, but Gadget existed for some time before Bilbao and Abu Dhabi were created and made available. They were never part of the app, really, until you paid for them. The 4 Track is more like a locked room in that shiny, expensive basement apartment....
OK, enough metaphoric language.
The real question: Does the 4 Track work well? Sounds like fun to me.
It is fun. HAM material. Feels a bit rough and random but I like that. Of course I never use it anymore. Sigh.
HAM?
Like, "hard as a m——"?
Happy Accident Moments
The 4 track recorder is free after registration.
Same here. AU even if feature limited due to screen size availability would be the best thing in the history of iPad
Animoog was an adult when it was born...if you compare it with the rest....IMO
That is correct, before it would not open without Internet connection, it was disappearing, now it is imbedded.
I find it a very sophisticated recorder, no HAMsters at all, tracks can be independently looped, trimmed, different lengths, dragged around, overdub, do you know any synth that has anything comparable?
can you imagine this recorder in Model 15? WOW
For some reason, the registration is not working for me. I send my info, it says, "Thank you for registering with us!" ... still doesn't work....
I don't suppose there's a Moog dev lurking around here to sort it out?
Then click on the activation and open Animoog and it should be working forever...
This used to be a bug, (the constant registering) but now it's fixed.
since ios 8.3 came out what have people been using to access their animoog folders on a mac? I know ifunbox doesn't work anymore (at least on a mac). I'd like to easily make program changes and since animoog doesn't do bank select changes it makes sense for me to make a favorites category and put patches I'd use in a live set there. Preferably for free but I could pay something if I need to.
P.S. I have an ipad mini 2 running ios 9.3.2
Not working for me, alas. I've sent a note to the good people at Moog. Will report back.
I registered a long time ago and it worked but now it's asking for registration again
Are you suggesting it's somehow my fault!?
Haha no, just adding my experience, I really like the recorder but it's fickle, so I haven't bothered to reregister yet
I'm sorry it doesn't seem to work for you guys, as @kobamoto said it doesn't work I went to double check. It works for me.
I find it to be a very sophisticated 4 track, out of curiosity I scrolled to see how many bars you can record and stopped at 2024 bars!!!...and it continued...
Tracks can be looped, trimmed, copied, joined together sent to AS, each track can play different program...and recording can be tweaked live...timeline can be zoomed in, you overdub parts etc ....wow...it's magic
Love it...
Thought I'd be able to leave this, but I've lost quite a bit of sleep over it:
Animoog existed for some time before the 4 track was introduced in version 2.0.
There, I've said it. Sorry for being an annoying pedant.
Now, I'm off to catch up on some much needed sleep.
P.S. The 4 track works well for me too.
Zzzzzzzzzz
it can be reached with this custom midi controller, too
Mea cupla, then. Sounds exactly the same as Gadget. Which also kind of pissed me off when I bought it only to learn that the two new gadgets that made me want to get it were extra.
OK I love you too...but
Hey everyone,
We had some problems with the back-end infrastructure that sent out the emails for the 4-track recorder, these have been resolved last week. If you didn't receive a 4-track registration email before, please try again. If after clicking the confirmation link in the registration email, the final "tap this" button doesn't fully activate the 4-track, please reach out to [email protected] so that we can help you out.
@MoogMusicInc , I have a small request...Can you please enable more inputs into Animoog?
It would be extremely useful for having more sources for control and note input for example.
The Model-15 has it...
Thanks
We'll look into it. Note that Animoog and Model 15 share no code whatshowever.
Thank you... I hope it can be done
...and thanks for the Model 15 update that just popped up
