  • I don't have an AU host capable of using it, so I can't try it.

I don't use GB on anything, and I don't have MultiTrackStudio. I think until DAWs like Cubasis, Auria Pro, BM2, MTDAW etc. become AU hosts, anyone releasing AU-only apps is going to probably see reduced sales among us here.

    Just a guess.

Of course GB has probably got a bit of a boost recently among some, but MultiTrackStudio is still a bit of an outlier I would think for most.

  • I think the early AU releasers will make a few bob out of people like me who always want to play with the new shiny thing.

  • midiSTEPs sequencer can also host AUi's.

  • I'm probably buying every early AUi released same with effects and hosts. (Multitrack studio and MIDIsteps were two apps I was not interested at all but now I Actually really like and use them a lot)

On this one I might wait a little, it looks good but I need to hear at least one sound demo.
looks like it also works standalone which is a good thing, there is really no need to make it IAA or audiobus compatible, right now it's limited by a lack of hosts of course but it's not going to stay like that forever.

  • Same here, AU or not, I'm not going to buy a synth app based on images.

  • Poor naming choice.

Googling for NS1 turns up SoundMachine's Nanosynth and a guitar.

Was hoping to find a YouTube or soundcloud channel. I'd like to hear it before I drop $10 bucks.

  • Yepp, sound-demos would be nice. It looks like a light-weight one oscilator synth, at least it's got one of my favourite features that many synths are missing, envelope control over pulse-width for some extra bite :D

  • No mention of MIDI. Will AU in some way add MIDI functionality via the host ?

  • Mmm - so i'm thinking 'why would i need this?'...

With iSem and shortly KQMiniSynth - don't I have all the virtual analog sounds covered?

Unless of course it was so ultra light on resources I could run far more instances than iSem.

One of the things with iSem being first to the AU synth market is that it's set the bar pretty high.

  • It's a modest 6.2 mb download if that's any indication of ressource usage.

  • Any one press the button yet, if so please report back with a audio clip if possible

  • Anyone tried it yet?

  • I'm tempted but I'll hold my horses, the KQMiniSynth loads super fast as AUi (which can't be said about iSEM that takes ages in comparison on iPad Air 2).

We need more AUi synths :D

  • Yes we need AU everything. Some DX, some 303ness and some wave table too :)

You have the KQ Mini...built your own 6 operator FM synth ;)

    Sure ;)

@topic : after having a look at NS1: no,this i really don't need.Only one OSC?Nothing else that sets it apart from the gazillion of other (great) iOS synth (well, besides being an AU).Seems a tad overprized (attention:i'm spoiled by the low app store prices as well, obviously).Maybe the one OSC sounds outstanding (but why are there no demos then?) but since iSEM is already my favorite IOS synth...

It does sound really good, (unfortunately) for those hesitating and wanting to resist...

An intro sale price would've been nice, considering iSem was going for $5 last week. There's an odd thing with the preset set up- can't find the selector window when in AU, wrote dev about it, might be my error...

  • Still can't find any video demos. Need to hear and see it in action. Anyone found anything yet? :)

  • Found a new video and it sounds very good. I like the simple interface and the rich sound it produce. This synth deserves some more attention.

The app is a true sort of "analog" style synth.

It was one of the 1st AU synths, since then so many other options have lessened the need for this app at all.

Not much choice at the moment if your looking for an au synth. Interface looks slick and the sound is also rich. Seems a very nice synth to create some quick patches without wasting hours of tweaking. I don't have isem, viking, poison or phasemaker because i don't like the sound. This is the first au synth that impressed me soundwise after checking different demo videos (au synths).

It's the only AU synth I know of that I don't own yet.

  • It's not a bad synth. I thought it could of done with more presets tho.

Agree. In this day and age having a handful of presets is kind of weak. Plenty of people here who would program a bank or so of presets for free for them.

  • I like it. It's quite versatile to play with, although (I think) I haven't recorded with it yet. @thesoundtestroom did a great run through when it came out:

  • I'm a preset person myself, but the NS-1 is what convinced me that AU would eventually be a real thing on iOS. For a good while, there were some serious doubts on this here forum.

Yeah I had some myself. Glad to have been wrong :)

  • The dev is a really nice guy. He helped me out with some tricky questions I had back when I was trying to figure out AU development.

Yeah it's quite the generous dev community we have on iOS :)
