  • It's a good synth, but the CPU use seems kind of high on my iPad mini 2. I did some informal testing in Auria Pro last night, and NS-1 seemed to need more juice than Phasemaker, Poison, or FabFilter One. That said, it's a nice-sounding AU, and it's so easy to program that presets aren't that necessary, imho. Also, I need a more powerful iPad.

  • The Dev made another nice little app called "Midi Sketch" too........

  • Someone on the musicappblog posted the below comment about ns1 and his comment plus Doug's demo video sold me.

With 4 instances of ns1 in AUM, I can get the most beautiful, lush, moving pads you’ve ever heard. It’s absolutely great for layering!

Same here using NS1 with Cubasis using an air2. Just opened 3 instances in Cubasis with 8 voices on each channel and the cpu starts to max out and the sound start to crackle. First time i see my air2 reaching the cpu limit. Just started playing with NS1 today and i love the sound and interface, but i hope the dev can fix the cpu usage the next update.

Viking is another one that's great for layering too.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out later. Just bought Tines,Jussi,Ns1 and Shoom and think I need a new itunes gift card. :)

If you look on the Shoom swap thread there is my bank of 75 sounds for it. Use the last link I posted in the thread. Should still be live.

This is such great news. Thanks 100x :)

  • In terms of performance, nothing can compete with Phonem AU. I am able to load a lot (a lot) of instances in AUM on my ipad4. I don't know how he did it, but the dev is a pure genius

Agree all the PPG apps are just great.

I never did get Phonem, beyond its efficiency what do we think of its sound etc?

  • To my ears, Phonem sounds beautiful, deep and complex...the latter being its biggest weakness as it is also complex to program. However, there are many presets you can tweak. A must...

@cuscolima "a must" is right. There's nothing on iOS like it. (If you want to make machines talk and sing) iVoxel and Voice Synth are great, Phonem is magic.

Well, there goes my allowance for the weekend :)

  • Hoping NS1 goes universal :)

  • I almost got it. Only heard good things about it. It sounds good to me, so at some time I predict it will be mine.
