  • Cool, I'm going to try and sync in some elastic drums......

  • Great ! I love auxy ...my go to 5 minute of fun app. Wish they'd add midi to the iPhone version

  • Shame not the iPad version.....well not yet here in UK anyway :(

  • strange.. they wont midi, coz 'it is less used' but they added Link, Link used by 'Pro' app and Auxy is not to be a Pro app, they said.

    And ipad version? abandoned or?

  • It does seem contrary to their previous statements to add Link, but on the other hand it is meant to be a pretty easy addition to put in there, unlike MIDI which can be tortuous and take a lot of time.

Yes, this. The Link SDK makes this easy relative to MIDI.

Also, I may be dreaming, but I think Link has some consumer crossover potential. Say I want to encourage a more interactive experience for my fans--with a Link-enabled noise-making app, any consumer could join in.

Yep, I think Link has way more possibilities to explore further.

What would be super duper cool is if Link transmitted info about key and scale, right?

That would help our jamming sessions where we shout key changes at each other :p

  • @Sebastian, Unless this has already been stated, it would be neat to have a Link button in the AudioBus input panel to filter out all apps on the list, and leave just the the Link enabled apps visible on the list. Hit the button again, and all apps appear on the list.

So does Auxy for iPhone have background audio?

I cant seem to find how to get it playing in the background.

  • Wonna ask the same
Link is enabled by default ?

  • edited February 2016

In a parallel world of my own choosing I believe Auxy is spelled Contrary, but much as they irk me I also have a sneaking admiration for buggers who go their own way...

  • Does anybody know if the iPad version will get the link update, or is it iPhone only?

  • I don't know but it seems like they lost interest in the iPad version unfortunately.

It doesnt. Im in the middle of an argument with them about it. They think it will confuse users and it is an old paradigm to run apps together.

Nope you have to turn it on.

  • I was goin to say "grab the iPhone version" but if won't be able to run in background... I'll just say "leave it".
    Seriously no bkg audio? lol

  • They say they are not fans of running multiple apps on one device.

  • I guess they really do want to keep their apps as toys. Oh well, there are better apps...

i just wanted to say something...but lost my words. They are (Retronyms)^2

Thanks. Urrrgh!! (And no AB either, to force it into background audio).

I wanted to have iElectribe or ED playing along with Auxy. But no background audio makes this pretty much unworkable. Never mind.

One day, perhaps, I'll be able to:

    • Splitscreen - with AB remote in one half (check)
    • Something like Auxy, Genome or ModStep - Link enabled - in the other half (not possible yet)
    • Running Link enabled apps like Patterning, ED or iElectribe (and hopefully Animoog one day)

That would be a pretty great single iPad jamming set up... And I'm sure my Air2 would have sufficient power to run it.

  • @Matt_Fletcher_2000

ATM I'm waiting desperately for infinite looping(loops/can't remember the exact name). Loopy workflow on midi:)

    Auxy morons!

  • Well, that's disappointing.

  • I wouldnt call or lash out like that. They have their reasons and thats ok. I do not understand that you implement an advanced feature like link into your app and leave BG audio out.

Its their call. I spent 5 Dollars on a cool app with cool sounds. Will need to run it by itself on one device while jamming and making tracks.

    So it is..

  • and the sounds are good :)

Such a delicious pun it almost makes up for the rudeness

It'll definitely confuse the users the Auxy team is trying to attract.
