I like GTL a lot. Dev is very responsive. Check out the features poll on the forum. More people should take a look at GTL IMHO.
Yeah, loopers galore! But I think that's great and each of them seems to have it's own advantages. I'm collecting them. Something I'd like to see would be a clone of the Boss RC300.
And group the loop is very cool, I'd recommend it. I've been on the beta for loopersonic too but sadly I hardly got around to testing at all. I did record some videos from iPad Pro to the Mac for the dev, though, so it's not like I didn't help... The MIDI bindings would be essential to my use of the app, so I'll think about buying when that's implemented. Group the loop has MIDI, which works very well now, after the bugs got squished. No cc though, only notes.
I havent used many loopers but what I am really liking about LooperSonic, that I am not sure you can do with other ios loopers, is that it supports IAA instruments so I can record Egoist and Patterning layers automaticly in perfect sync which is fantastic. I didnt expect playback to be synced so bonus!
This app is great! I highly recommend it to everyone, it's just so simple & fun to use! Wishing you all the best as always
Here it is.
Loopersonic is ideal if you want a looper that combines loops in a snap into an exportable file.
You can export to Audioshare or Audiopaste.
You can use it on IPHONE AND IPAD.
I love this app. Great IPHone supplement to Group the Loop.
I was able to throw 5 loops into it, combine them with a press of a button and export them to Egoist for cut up in all but 2 minutes.
i wish group the loop had a sample slicer in place of it's drum machine, how wonderful would that beeeeeee
but drum machines r cool too
Just bought this tonight. Between Loopersonic and Group the Loop, I'm very satisfied in the looper category.
Anyone else having weird timing issues with this app? Seems like it's shifting playback to be about an 8th/16th note off. I am recording exactly on the metronome and getting results like this. I'm on 8.4. Really hope I can get sorted because this seems like a perfect sketch pad for me.
Try recording the metronome itself. If it still doesn't look right, try restarting your device. If it's still off then I would love to get details on your device and setup so I can fix it.
I decided to give this a shot. Is there any countdown function? Not seeing it.
I wouldn't call the drummer a highlight. It will be enhanced though according to dev. So far, I like GTL workflow the best.
No, but you can turn on the metronome and set the loop bar before you record to get the same effect.
So no way to set up bindings to move from group to group in a live situation?
Thanks for your reply. But if I want to record an IAA instrument, I don't have any reference before the previously recorded tracks start playing. Might be something to consider.
@anickt I see, a count-in before 1.1, that would be handy. I'll put it on the list. A workaround would be to copy everything over one measure, although it doesn't solve IAA triggering playback of other apps.
Thanks - I haven't spent much time with LS yet. It looks good but that stood out to me.
Another vote for count in fer sure...
Quick question: Landscape supported?
On iPad yes, iPhone no.
Thank you. Downloading today.
It seems recording from the mic works much better. The metronome recording was nearly right on, tiny delay between playback of metronome recording and actual metronome. I did a little more testing an hooked it up to my audio interface (audioconnect 4+). The problem completely went away. So it seems like its happening only when using audiobus or inter app audio while not hooked to an audio interface. The screenshot I posted was animoog as IAA, not connected to an audio interface. For me this is no longer really an issue as I will always be using an audio interface, but If you'd like to look into it more, here is a short video of whats going on. I'm on ios 8.4 on Air 2.
@otem_rellik Thank you for the video! Did you ever try restarting the device? I'm not sure how it happens, but there's sometimes a discrepancy between the reported time stamp on the audio input and the actual time the audio comes in, and nothing short of restarting the device seems to fix it.
Looking at the video it's somewhat similar to what I experience with Cubasis, especially when feeding midi-notes from Cubasis to an IAA-Generator and recording the results back to Cubasis.
The 'amount' of shift seems to be related to the buffer-size used by the Cubasis, with buffer at 128 it rarely happens but with 256 or 512 buffer it's almost every time.
Don't know what buffer-size LooperSonic uses but it's worth checking out.
Function like normalize for recordings would be nice. Besides that nice app.
@Samu LooperSonic requests 256. Maybe I should make that an option?
@helmutmaria I'm going to make more export options available on the share screen. Normalize and file type at least.
@LooperSonic I did restart, a couple times actually with no change. Seems like @Samu may be onto something with the buffer size. Anyone else on 8.4 who can reproduce?
Thanks LS Your app brings up really fast good results. But than you also miss really fast for example FX possibilities. What brings me back to my DAW Cubasis again. But on the other side, you have much faster results. So easy to bring in the sound from other apps. So there is definitely much room for further improvements and additions.
@otem_rellik Would you be willing to install a beta version that does some logging for me? I'll need a minute to put it together. Email me at [email protected] and I'll set you up with a beta version to get to the bottom of it.
This is exactly how I feel. This is what I hoped LoopTree would be except that app was made more for live performance - this is laid out similarly but has features from day 1 better suited to create and mess with loops for recording/creative purposes. It's like a light-version DAW in terms of its audio editing capabilities.
Would like to see some better implementation of the metronome and maybe even a keyboard for MIDI note data within the app (okay the 2nd one is a bit extreme). But the export options are great - nice universal app!
