I bought it too, because of the sale. Not too impressed, but there are some nice sounds. The acoustic guitars however are terrible, the ones in Marseille are actually better, I wonder why KORG thought they needed to be included?

  • @Tritonman said:
Are the sounds all from single programs or did they include combi's is as well?

Yep...single programs only...no combis, no drums or percussion, and only 100 programs out of the 500-600 that usually comes with the hardware.

Like I said it's more like "a taste of triton". It also shows how Korg has recycled a fair amount of sounds in their keyboards over the past 25 years. The M1 organ patch is now in 4 different Gadgets?!?!

  • Korg will probably bring out Triton Vol. 2. Lol. :)

  • Is module on Sale too?

  • I think so?

I had a Trinity+, the Triton was basically a Trinity with expanded ROM w/ new sounds added, prolly some new effects as well, can't remember. Back then I thought they sounded absolutely amazing. But can't say the acoustic stuff (strings, horns and so on) have aged that well at all, what a horrible demo lol. They both did some really great pad sounds tho, as well as some other electronic oriented stuff (if you had Prophecy synth expansion installed, you also had a very capable physical modeling synth onboard).

I’ve had a Korg 05R/W since new in the 90’s. That’s about the most modern hardware synth I have, yet it’s capable of sounding really dated quite easily. It’s also from the days of obtuse and punishing user interfaces, in which the manufacturers essentially hadn’t finished the job (although not as ridiculous as a Roland GM70 Guitar to midi converter I once had, which did everything in octal. Octal!). However, in my opinion, my Korg 05R/W sounds not too far away from that demo tune promoting the thing talked about here in this thread.

  • To me, the greatest thing about the new Module update is that they fixed a problem with IAA so that it now works with MusicIO!

Previously, it worked for MIDI, but not audio. I wrote to Korg about the issue and they fixed it with the next update. Thank you Korg!

Now I can finally use my gigantic 2 GB Ivory piano, and other great Module sounds, in my DAW!
