Does anybody know anything about Beatmaker 3?
I know I know... NDA, but at least just say "It's there, it's nice, it'll be out sometime"
Comments
Word is it'll be a step on from BM2
I was just about to ask if anyone knew what is happening with BM3 and when it will be out
Hopefully soon...
So is it already in Beta or rumored to be at least?
Or a step down from BM Pro for us time travellers from the future
I take it your TARDIS is a Mark 1, with my Mark 2 I have seen BM Ultimate
Went there. Didn't like the holographic interface of the iPad Hollo and the fact you have to pay two Apple credits per day just to hire BMU, or BUM as I call it
And it still can't quite achieve perfect midi sync to th clock tower!
I'm having wild speculations as to what will come first. A proper sampler Gadget for Korg Gadget, Beat Maker 3 or Fruity Loops Mobile 3
LMAOOOO
You haven't sussed this time travel thing properly have you, you buy 2 credits, then at 23:59 rewind time back to 00:00
My money would be on FLM3
If you load it into AUM it will host sync to the flux capacitor
Of those FLM3 interests me the most
Hahaha
Is it true that these developers, Intua are snowboarder's by their day job? Or something to that affect? Read it somewhere on the internet, so it must be true right?
I read on here that someone read it somewhere.
yeah they are working hard to get BM3 compatible with all or at least most snowboards. The future of live performance I believe (any time travellers able to confirm this?).
BM Pro worked with all snowboards, and then ultimate included support for hoverboards
Intua.... Please hurry up....because.....
How true! :-)
Now I'm wondering if iMPC Pro will get 'Input-Monitoring' before BeatMaker 3 arrives
I mean seriously a 'sampler' with no way to monitor the input prior to sampling....
(Ok, Caustic lacks input monitoring too for some strange reason).
I keep seeing that it has no monitoring, but I don't get it. When I sample from an app it monitors.
Are you talking about monitoring from an audio input from a soundcard ?
Yepp, External Soundcard or other 'Input-source'(built-in mic included).
Sampling IAA-Instruments works already as they output sound thru the iPad-Speaker or Headphone Jack.
But if you attach say an iRig Mic HD and need to monitor/hear (using headphones) what's coming thru the input before pressing 'record' there is no way to do that in iMPC Pro. AudioShare has a nice monitor button as does BM2 and most other audio-recording apps.
Same goes when attaching an instrument (synth, record-player, tv, radio or practically any source) directly to the sound-card (using line-input without external speakers). It sure would be nice to monitor/hear what the iPad receives (levels-quality, eq etc.) before starting the recording.
Even Cubasis has input monitor switch for the audio-channels and in the mini-sampler.
I sample mostly external sources so this has been an issue with iMPC Pro since it's first release...
Core Audio is smart enough to auto-route the output to the headphone jack when headphones are attached.
Then again if the only 'sampling' that is done is IAA-Instruments internally or 'Importing from iTunes Library' this is not a problem.
That sucks
It sure does, takes all the fun out of sampling.
I have no doubt that Intua will deliver an amazing app when they finally decide to deliver BeatMaker 3.
We do have many new/updated 'Sampler Type Apps' to look forward to.
I'm wondering if maybe AUM could be used as a work around. Use an IAA (or AB) app. that does have the input monitor as an AUM input. Connect iMPC Pro to the output and then begin sampling. I'll give it a try tonight. I use the UCA222 and Griffin iMic for external sampling.
There is no AudioBus support in iMPC Pro.
It might be possible to use AUM as IAA-Input to iMPC Pro but that's just a poor excuse for lack of a function that should have been there from day one and the downside is that the 'play-thru/monitoring' continues after sampling has stopped because AUM keeps outputting the input.
Then again it's small things like this that make me avoid iMPC Pro all together regardless of the other features, it simply takes out all the fun in sampling. Guess they also ignored my latest e-mail a week ago...
For line-level sampling I use the Behringer UCA-202 and for other 'sounds' i use the iRig Mic HD.
Update: Input monitoring works in iMPC Pro using the Behringer UCA-222. The 222 has a monitor on/off switch and it works perfectly with iMPC Pro. I ran an 1/8in-to-RCA stereo cable from my iphone to the UCA-222, plugged in heaphones into the "Phones" jack, played a song from the iphone and viola', monitoring and recording worked fine!
The input monitor switch on the UCA is not the same as real input monitoring. The UCA switch directly routes the input to the the output meaning it does not pass thru the iPad thus does not accurately reflect what is recorded and in order to stop monitoring after sampling the switch has to be switched to avoid having the input allways play thru.
Even if the UCA has the switch it's not working when using iRig Mic HD or other usb audio interfaces that do not have hardware monitor-switch. So it's just a poor 'workaround' for a missing feature in iMPC 'Pro'.
I'll just forget that MPC 'Pro' even exist and delete all the Retronym crap from my iPad...
Or maybe NanoStudio 2...
