Anyone else using Turnado? Got some issues!
So first of all, I love Turnado - it's crazy powerful. But, I can't use it! First launch is okay. If I exit and re launch, I get a loud pop and that's it. No more sound until I delete and re-install. I thought at first it was a problem with AB but this is just standalone. I've emailed Sugarbytes but I just wondered if anyone else is managing to use this app with success? Air 2, iOS 9.2.1.
Comments
No issues here Air 2 8.4 and Air 9.2.1
Hi- yes there are several postings on this forum by myself and others- I have also contacted Sugarbytes- they say that they can't replicate it so they can't fix it. They say to Delete it... Shut down iPad.... reboot.... then reinstall...... this might help- a bit. I have found that if you have the input playing whilst you open Turnado can help. Also experiment with switching on the 'record' button in Turnado when setting up can help as well. Make sure you keep the volume down when setting up- that BUZZ! can't be healthy for the iPad speakers.
Please return to let us know about Sugarbytes reply to you.
Also can I urge anyone else with this issue to contact them- in order that they might put some more effort into solving this problem.
Found a fix (I think). Toggle iPad mute and close/re-launch. That seems to get it going again. But from the sounds of it they're unlikely to issue a fix! Shame.
iOS Turnado is the crazy drunk uncle who causes all sorts of mayhem but you can't stop loving him because he makes everything so colorful.
I tend to use the Auria Turnado now, seems more solid.
Because he gives you money and sweets
I always had problems loading them into Audiobus especially effextrix since it needs a clock to run.
They all run perfectly in AUM. If you got AUM load it into AB.
I read somewhere that it's a problem with AB not having MIDI.
My sweet favourite Turnado-darling is working fine here, too (Air/Air2, ios 9.2.1). Happy to be lucky, hope everybody gets this resolved, life without Turnado is dreaded(!) over here nowadays.
Aaaaahh... this is great news. I am a little confused though- as I don't have AUM yet(I didn't think I was going to need it). Would I actually need to use Audiobus at all if I just wanted to run Korg Gadget through Turnado (as the insert effect) and record it onto Audioshare (as the output)? It looks like you could do this on the Youtube videos I have watched but you mention loading it in to Audiobus. If you can't do it all in AUM- could you please tell me how the set-up would be- sequence of event wise/ what would have to go where
Many thanks.
Precisely.
And has a nice van with comfy cushions in the back. Apparently.
How did you hear about that?
I mean, I have no idea what you are talking about.
Hi @robosardine , I just gave it a quick try and it works.
Opened AUM used one track and loaded Gadget in and effextrix in Fx and it works great.
Link enabled
No Audiobus needed.
One thing though, some apps are missing the IAA logo that makes it easy to switch between apps. So you need to double click home button to switch.
Great soundklinik- many thanks for taking the time- if it gets Turnado working regularly- then that will do me just fine- I can easily revert to Audiobus for the rest of them. I'm just off to look out my shopping basket for a visit to the app store. I might even have a look at this new Novation Bloc Wave release whilst I'm there...........
I stopped to help him get a sofa in his van once.......never again!
I think Johnny's referring to that other uncle who takes you to his van and gives you Bailey's and tells you that what you've been doing is your little secret.
Wasn't his name Buffalo Bill?
Great- it works just like you said....... No more fighting with Turnado....... Joy!
How do you change the speaker at the bottom of AUM to become Audioshare? I can't see it.
You don't always need the logo. Just tap on the skinny long strip at the very top of the screen- and this should get you back.
Ummm ...Uncle Ernie ..I seem to recall...(rock on Moonie !!)
@robosardine , I don't know if you can do that, (to change speaker to AS), but as you load a player in another channel it has a direct access to AS, being part of the environment.
You loose me, saying tap the long strip at the top of screen to return to AUM.... I don't see any strip in apps that don't have IAA...where do you see that?
Hi- I have just checked again- it only seems to work when using Gadget- which I was on last night. When using AUM with Gadget as the input- both inside Audiobus- I could not see a little tab for returning to AUM in Gadget- but I discovered that tapping the thin red line at the very top of the screen (that says audiobus recording in it)- it will take you back to AUM- with no button pressing required.
In Auria it always resets the big knobs to zero whenever i stop/reset the sequencer.I know there is a setting for it but it doesn't work nonetheless. But rim said he can't reproduce it and therefore it's hard to fix.Makes it close to unusable for me.Is it working for you?
Just tried it again, as since upgrading to Pro, I've just down loop recordings with Turnado and not noticed.
Yes you are correct. Used as a track recording fx it's now unusable really.
Have you upgraded from LE and upwards like myself? I wonder if that makes a difference.
Will send fault report as well.
It must be catching. I had intermittent issues with Turnado in AB but had figured out some workarounds. Those workarounds aren't working any more and even some of my old tricks to use IAA directly in other apps to get Turnado to behave aren't working reliably anymore... I guess the drunk uncle is on a bender right now.
Anyone know why Turnado is so touchy in the iOS sphere? Someone earlier in the thread mentioned MIDI. What exactly is Turnado looking for in terms of MIDI? Input? Clock?
You got it completely wrong
It's Audiobus that is messed up, all these midi apps work in AUM...
I asked Sugar Bytes about it. Don't blame them for Audiobus....They did get it right.
So just loading AUM into AB solves the issue? That's easy enough but begs the question: why?
Working on both airs of mine (8.4 and 9.3). Turnado tends to like to be the last effect plugged in, other than that it's been fine.
Ah, that just solved it and I now understand the MIDI piece as well. I had been opening Turnado before opening the app that sends the clock sync. If I switch that, it seems to work again. Thx.
I dunno man it's plenty buggy on its own! I just open it sometimes and it makes a loud pop/note and I have no sound until I toggle the mute button and open/close the app a few times then it's fine for a while.
I still really like it though! Just used it for like 50% of a job I'm on so I'm not complaining...too much
WOW and Effectrix do the same as well btw. Don't know if it's a particular type of effect it's trying to recall on startup but yeah. Same symptom. Big pop. No sound.
I use it without audiobus and its perfect. If you don't need AB then ace....
