Turnado is one of those great ideas, whose makers either can't or won't get right. I still try to dabble with it occasionally, but have given up on it ever being reliable. The sheer tardiness shown toward this app makes me loathe to buy from the developers again.

You got it completely wrong :)
It's Audiobus that is messed up, all these midi apps work in AUM...
I asked Sugar Bytes about it. Don't blame them for Audiobus....They did get it right.

I dunno man it's plenty buggy on its own! I just open it sometimes and it makes a loud pop/note and I have no sound until I toggle the mute button and open/close the app a few times then it's fine for a while.

I still really like it though! Just used it for like 50% of a job I'm on so I'm not complaining...too much ;)

WOW and Effectrix do the same as well btw. Don't know if it's a particular type of effect it's trying to recall on startup but yeah. Same symptom. Big pop. No sound.

The "mute"-button you're talking about is the red one in the middle of the main screen? If so, that's no mute, but a reset of all effects to zero. Make sure, when quitting Turnado, to have all effects off, this way, when starting it next time, it should work (does here, every time). Thing is, that Turnado might have a looper of some kind instantiated when started, and thus: no sound... .
Hope to have helped, cheers, t

Where do you run them? In AB? ...from the symptoms it sounds like Audiobus.

Effectrix will not run in AB, it needs clock to run. Wow and Turnado play in AB sometimes if you run them last...sometimes...

They work perfectly in AUM... You can run AUM inside of AB with apps that don't work in AB.
    The red button resets Turnado.

  • I was getting the loud pop noise when opening Turnado too a long while back, and contacted them about it. Tried using Turnado again today, noise is still there.

Sugar Bytes struggles on iOS. They seem to just port their stuff and leave it.

  • Yeah sorry to clarify, by the mute button I mean the system mute in the control centre :) I know the red button is for parameter reset (although I didn't for ages!).

In any case sounds like a mixed bag. Some people are fine, some people aren't. Very strange. Still an enjoyable app, but yeah it does make me a bit wary of SB. Just a bit, though.
