Great news! I guess it should work on the 6 as well then.
Any of your lightning ports loose on your adapter? If I move the power lightning cable at all it flickers between starting and stoping charging my iPad.
does this mean we can now use the wide range of class compliant audio interfaces?
I tested the launch control XL and it works like a charm.
I don't have any bus-powered USB audio interfaces (all of mine need AC power) to really give it a workout but it does power an Akai MPK49 keyboard when using an iPad power adaptor as the power source on both on iPhone 6s and an iPad mini2. This was well above the limits with the old CCK without power. I would expect this definitely eliminates the need for a powered hub if you only want to attach one thing at a time. And of course you can now charge the device at the same time in either case.
@Ringleader, my connections seem secure, sounds like you got a lemon![:( :(](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
Should this be compatible with my focusrite 2i2? Hope so.
ordered....but again headshake for the apple prices over 100€ for the option to open the ios device to USB OR/AND (did this try someone?) HDMI
Every Android Tablet have USB AND HDMI, so to the cheap(ironic!) ipad prices of apple you have to add:
the Adapter 45€.....that you can plug one USB Device,
http://www.apple.com/de/shop/product/MK0W2ZM/A/lightning-auf-usb-3-kamera-adapter#
another 59€ that you have HDMI out....the new one:
http://www.apple.com/de/shop/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
to have a seperate Lightning Port too, same as the new USB3 Adapter, is it possible to cascade them?
that you could use both 'USB&HDMI @ the same time?
try cleaning the contacts on your cable and on your device. For example with a small piece of wood (match) that you cut to a sharp tip. This has worked for me many times, because in summer I'm often outdoors with my gear, and I had to clean the contacts several times.
There was a hairline crack in the lightning end of my charging cable! The kids must have gotten ahold of that one. I tried a different charging cable and it works now. This adapter is all that and a bag of chips! Thanks Apple!!!
Is cascading possible?
Anybody knows if an usb device that usually have to go through a powered usb hub before connecting to iPad, such as korg microkey 37 and nanoknotrol, will work with this new adapter?
Does it work on iPad Air 1 ?
Apple web says something about that pluggin it in will automaticly open the photos app??? Can you turn that of ???
What advantage does this have over using something like Music IO where the lightning cable goes directly into my mac with audio/midi and charges?
i'm sure it means it opens the photo app IF you have something plugged in with photos on it (camera, stick etc...)
@Korakios
yes,it's supposed to work with air 1 (listed under compatible devices) and all other ipads with lightning port.
Well, not having to use a Mac is one advantage ...
Very good point lol...off to order one now![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
This is really something. I thought they would never do it.
A major change. Will have one in my hands within 2 hours.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
and....... will now get out all those USB things, which are many![:D :D](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Also, as I recall, only the new Pro versions have USB 3 (at least, that's what i've heard).
The 12.9" has USB 3, 10" is USB 2
Chat with apple support they write its technical not possible to cascade (serial) the new adapters.....
But!!! The new USB3 cck adapter have 2500mah!
I test it the next days, how much devices are possible ;-)
really? So,it does not only charge the ipad but also delivers more oomph for connected USB devices? That would be awesome.I need to get this asap and test it with my Roland interface.
Very interested in the results. I want o use it with iTrack solo - hub - Beatstep, XKeys and air1...
Can you access an external Hard Drive with it, like you access WAV/MP3/Videos/Pictures, etc files like a PC/Mac? Or has Apple still blocked those privileges?
think its still block, but ask apple support ;-) as i 1h ago....
btw,noob question:
Or could it eventually mean that it's like 500ma goes to the USB port and 2000ma is for charging the pad?

epic voice![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
so,it's true:it will also deliver power for stuff that formerly used too much power on their own AND charge your device. That's friggin A.W.E.S.O.M.E
I ordered mine.
Still won't power a Korg MicroKEY 37. Apogee One seems to work though, but it's a little finnicky and Maestro doesn't seem to see it even though I can use it in AUM.
