At 60 votes, it's turned from about 55%y/45%n when I voted (near vote 30, I think) to 35%y/65%n.
I'm wondering how many 'Nay' votes could be accounted for by those hoping to be activist judges with regard to any delay in LMP's release.
I'll just say this: I want it last week too but if it takes an extra month or two to add a content store which might translate into a solid financial foundation for the ongoing development of MP over the years, I'm so very all for it.
Precisely. Build the house nicely, but pay the rent to keep it painted...
Either way, it's shaping up to be an eventful year. Between AUM and Loopy ME (and many others), plenty to be thankful for!
I think I would like to see a innovative content store: no more dancefloor oriented loops a la Audiocopy(or slightly more interesting Launchpad), but inspiring, long and subtle soundscapes, fx, vocals or anything which isn't the musical core of a piece, something able to inspire and lead the composer throughout the process.
I would like freesound.org and 99sounds philosophy ported to iOS world, even if it comes at a cost.
A Allihoopa for samples, samplemakers, field recorders.
activist judges have been good to me and mine, I say drop it like it's hot
There's a niche business in this idea!
Great feedback guys, thank you very much! Some specific comments:
Right, back to work, will check in again in a bit =D
@Michael, how about a video update on progress.
I've been trying to think of the best way to do that without too many spoilers, and whether I should even be worried about spoilers... let me get back to you on that one, @djjuniorpops
Spoilers will just make us want it more, so good advertising
@Michael maybe there's a difference between spoilers and teasers. A good screen shot teaser can be very effective marketing without showing too much, yes?
[Camera opens on a room empty apart for M. who is sitting on a simple chair in the middle of the shot]
M: "It's going very well, it's going to be very good, it won't be very long."
[Fade to black].
Also, I'm pixellated out, just in case.
How about a video of you eating lunch or something?
I could just stare at the camera for 10 minutes?
On reflection, I think you should follow Arthur's lead and bugger off mysteriously. Be a shame about the app and all, but in the long run it would do wonders for your brand etc.
Go, go go!!!
I wouldn't personally but I think most of your users would.
I selected no, but am pulling for yes!
I would ask other app makers like Intua if their expansions worked well for them.
Yes, but then you also get a fast-follower like Group The Loop that takes all the neat ideas and implements them before LE Masterpiece gets released.
I dare you.
@Michael I would buy sound packs but not as IAPs
Technologically, the way that IAPs work is a nonstarter for me. Anything I buy needs to have a backup. IAPs can't be backed up.
What would be great is a way to buy add-ons as apps, and then use them from other apps. Something like how iM1 and Module integrate with Gadget, but generalized. I would think soundpacks would be a great place to start with trying to make a standard. If soundpack apps automatically integrated with apps that used the soundpack SDK then soundpacks wouldn't feel so locked in to a given app. Sure you could copy and paste them, but all the app switching, trying to remember which app had which sounds, and then all the duplicates that would result just seems like a headache. Having which soundpacks were installed be managed at the homescreen/app level, with a file picker preview capability like AudioShare would be huge!
Ah, but I remember when I got iMaschine, and I laboriously played/recorded one sample at a time, until I got all the ones I liked out of their cage. It can be done but you have to earn it.
Don't think there's anything particular to the IAP model that would prevent an app developer from allowing a user to simply and easily get the content out of the app via standard iOS means.
Yeah, outside in your jungle of a backyard!
...searches feverishly for Philippe's Post...
yay!
which video has the stuff about slicing in it?
found it
