So I got one. Upgraded from an iPad Air (1). For me, the upgrade has been pretty incredible. Obviously there is going to be a huge performance boost from the original Air, but to be fair, the original Air serviced my needs pretty well. But I'm a few screen replacements into it at this point, so just wanted to start fresh with some hardware fresh off the production line at Foxconn. The biggest complaint, and the one I soundly agree with, is the lack of 4gb of ram compared to the "other" iPad Pro. I'm sure there is a marked difference in performance when having many apps open, how could there not be. But again, coming from where I was, this has been something I've gladly relegated to the lower end of my priorities for now. And being a musician who typically records live instruments and rarely loads up on the midi or synths, I'm not even sure I could ever really test that out. When I got the Air, I was stoked because I could run several Auria/Fab Filter plugins simultaneously. Now...well now it's just stupid how much I can get in over my head at one time. Color me happy right now. Of course, as always, I reserve the right to change my opinion in a few minutes.

    That's good to hear :)

  • @boone51 I'm only on an Air 2 but even then it's pretty easy to run 25+ instances of Fabfilter when mixing, especially when the latency is set to 4096. I never freeze tracks, even when I have 40 tracks in the project.

What brings the crackles in my case is recording with latency at 128, then I usually need to disable the heavier plugins such as Timeless or Pro-MB. Also running multiple instance of Twin2 MIDI tracks will quickly cause crackles.

I'll give both a test and see if I can make her click
