@crzycrs No , ChordMem sequencer lane is for onscreen programming of Chord Memory Slot numbers . You cannot record a realtime performance into sequencer lanes .
The Chordmemory Slots are an alternative to playing input chords realtime .
If you are "entering chords by external keyboard or ChordPolyPad" , if you mean playing in realtime then you don't need to use Chordmemory .I don't know what "1-8 values" you are referring .

( P.s I have updated document with "unofficial" , as my last published resource ended up being mistaken as official . Please could you remove document or requote with update in your above post .thanks )

  • @Wally This is helpful, good work. Unofficial or otherwise :) You are an ambassador for the Cream cause and I trust the developer realizes how lucky they are to have you in their corner.

As I have mentioned here before, a complex product without some simple explanation is like winking at a girl in the dark; pretty pointless for most of us...

  • @Wally I thought so, yes - how can I enter a specific chord on a step then, there are squares numbered 1-8 upwards, most probably on the keyboard?

@crzycrs ah , so you are on the SEQ page .
confusingly , the word " sequencing" is used in different contexts with Cream .
SEQ specifies which 8 notes of a played input chord or ChordMemory Slot are to play on that step from lowest to highest , so to play multiple notes together you make a column of the notes you want . remember Cream is essentially an arpeggiator so wants to break input chords into single notes (arpeggiation) ,SEQ page is where to tell it to play chords.

In the above document look at the SEQ page , there is a column of 1,2+3 ...this is to play notes 1,2+3 of the ChordMemory Slot 1 CEG , Slot 2 FAC ,Slot 3 GBD as a chords .
This is the same for playing input chords manually ,so NOT using ChordMemory Slots.
If you wanted 7ths you add the 7th to your input chord or Chordmemory Slot & add 4 to column .

As there are 8 notes , you could fill them with an entire key C,D,E,F,G,A,B,C in a single Chordmemory Slot (1) or input chord . Then to play CEG would be notes 1,3,+5 in SEQ column , FAC =4,6+8 . In this scenario you wouldnt need to play the different chords manually or sequence diffferent ChordMemory Slots in "CHORDMEM" sequencer lane , just play all 8 notes manually or set CHORDMEM to (1) .

"SEQ "sequences WHICH notes within any chord , played as input or ChordMemory Slot.
"CHORDMEM" sequences which ChordMemory Slot 1-16 plays per step .

  • @wally. so wich mode do I use to do this your graphics are great, but I must be doing something wrong. wish you had a video explanation. thanks again for all your help Wally

Thanks, wally, tiny buds of knowledge unfolding here, expecting full blossom from your vids ...

  • @eross the video shows VST TriggerCM , which is ChordMemory Trigger button in CreamMobile & explained in the above graphics document on the right hand side.

Program your desired chords into ChordMemory Slot numbers & set basenote C2 for Slot1 ,C#2 for Slot2 , D2 for Slot3 . Turning on ChordMemory Trigger button , setting a column in SEQ if you want chordal playing ..& pressing key C2 should trigger playback of your chord in slot 1 .

that's what I thought, but when I push the chord memory trigger button, my arpeggiator stops moving and nothing plays. am I missing something? what does the " base note do?

  • @eross Basenote specifies WHICH note triggers each ChordMemory Slot .
for ChordMemory Trigger each ChordSlot requires a different note 1-16 = C2-D#3 so you can play each slot manually on the keyboard .
Therefore switching on ChordMemory Trigger mode , the arp is waiting for a trigger note to be played .
