I see they also have a piano and acoustic version. Sounds interesting. Has anyone used this, and can you share your thoughts on it?
I had the original Sessionband app. It is unique in that it is chord based loops. Set up your progression and add variety of loops. I would think its even more useful with AB support. It's also very Intuitive. There's a few videos on the website also. You're gonna need some space on device for content. Website is sessionbandapp.com
Yes - I have bought all 3 in an app frenzy yesterday. Jazz is out of this world while the Acoustic and Piano are very useful and practical - like jazz you have a COMPLETE set of chords with 10 variations per key...so tons of content.
Sounds like you guys aren't interested in helping my appaholism problem! ;-)
Sorry!! Jamie Cullum has endorsed the jazz one I see. Seriously tho I've been looking for something like this for ages now. As a producer/arranger having a choice of individually recorded loops in every key is the genius..saves having to go through the trial and error pain of key change in protools. Great apps and audiobus seems to work a treat.
Appaholic Anonymous works better in group sessions.
Lol. check out the videos on their site. You can hear alot of the loops in the soundtracks
I struggle with the first step of the twelve though....stop buying apps!
Came out on 15th - it's pretty amazing and so 'non-MIDI' sounding it's refreshing - it's like it's playing on the radio. I'll carry on with it some more and report back but first impressions are very favourable.
How does setting tempo work with pre recorded loops?
@syrupcore you can refer to this thread for your answer.

Is it possible to use the time stretcher in Session Band Jazz to adjust an imported track? Is it possible to import at all? Does it work in both input and output slots?
No imported content and input slot only.
Damn. Thought I'd spotted a cheap-ish time stretcher.
Some of your other apps may have it. You have Loopy? My favorite is Anytune Pro.
cheers @mgm4871
ps. if you add http:// before your links, they'll turn into clickable links automagically. http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/1308/sessionband-acoustic#Item_2
Please stop posting these great apps. How can I NOT buy this? Happy now?
@syrupcore cheers and thanks. @Iansainsbury what great potential this app has for songwriting, practicing, or just music theory. Very justifiable purchase.
Just picked up the Jazz version. Off to play with it now
Ok, got the jazz version. Just a word of warning. First go at assembling a track led to me discovering I couldn't select Am6 as a chord. I've mailed the dev, will let you know the response, but as far as I can see, minor six just isn't an option.
This isn't a complete disaster for me, as I only want to use bass and drums, but it seems a strange omission. Other than that, I love the idea and may well buy the acoustic guitar one for demos. I do want every chord though!
Got a email response from the Dev. He says the original Sessioband will be updated with all the new features and AB support.
+1 re lack of minor sixths, in fact not enough chords for serious composition... no diminished etc.etc. (acoustic version)
The Dev is very responsive. Send him a email.

@mgmg4871 ,thanks matey will try a shot across his/her bows :-)
+1 re lack of chords. Unfortunately, because this is a sample/loop based app, adding new chords means more studio sessions with the instrumentalists - so no quick fix and probably an IAP to finance it.
Ok, here's the (gratifyingly quick) response.
"Due to size constraints - because the app uses all studio recorded audio loops (Jazz Edition weighs in at 650MB) - we had to make a few compromises and restrict the chord variations for each root note to 10 in this version of SessionBand Jazz. It would have been nice to have the minor 6th in there.
Thank you for the valuable feedback - all comments get passed on and discussed at the development team meetings."
So pretty much as I thought. Personally, I'd have thought a m6 more useful than some of the (lovely) 13 #11 variants. @jsb, agreed, I certainly use diminished/half diminished etc, so th acoustic app would be no good for my songwriting. However, the jazz version will be usable to create bass and drum backing tracks or even the basis for a quick demo. Real shame about the chord omissions, though, and as @Washboy points out, hardly a quick fix.
@mgmg4871 - think that address is wrong my email bounced ! maybe its a lowercase
"s" in support.
Here's my reply, with a link to this thread, so we may get a chance to discuss some of these concerns directly with the dev:
"Hi Martin,
Thanks for the quick response. Shame. I think a minor 6th is pretty important. I know fixing this would mean more recording sessions, but it honestly seems a bit of a glaring omission to have no sixths. Any chance this could be added?
Re size constraints, I hear you, but I'm a piano player and won't be using the piano loops, so they're just taking up precious storage (apologies to Tom, he's a fantastic player!). Probably wont use the sax either, so I'd happily sacrifice them for more chord options. Might this pick and mix approach be a future option?
FYI, there's a thread discussing this on the audiobus forum, which is one of the most active ios music forums. http://forum.audiob.us/discussion/1307/sessionband-jazz-edition#Item_21"
It's [email protected]
@jsb - capitalization doesn't matter in email addresses, just FYI
