One initial feature request I would make (unless it's already there and I haven't figured it out) would be the ability to resize the playing surface layout individually for each synth. From what I can tell now, it seems to be a universal size control.
Double tap a circle and it will disappear.
Double tapping a held synth note deletes it. Hope this helps!
EDIT: Just saw this had already been answered. My bad!
I've been getting occasional crashing and sound cut out performance issues when in AUM, but not unexpected as it is v1.0 ...One time it crashed to the Apple logo and rebooted by itself.
I really love that app, it's very easy to come up with all kinds of great sounds, and a pleasure to play on the screen
I +1 the motion recording suggestion, but I already thinks it's perfect in its actual state
It also has IAA sync when used in AUM, and that's a big deal for me!
Big mega thanks to the developer, this app is up there with samplr/sector/thumbjam/fugue machine etc...
Does it IAA sync for you? I'm finding the bpm stays the same and doesn't sync to AUM clock. It responds to virtual midi clock for me though.
I agree with the arpeggiators, classic simple synth arpeggios would fit in nicely with the creepy horror movie score sound design that's possible with Shoom.
Catchy, addictive, interesting, fun, inexpensive, useful, thought provoking! Feel free to add to the description.
+1 for arpeggiator AND motion recording (both working together at the same time).
Yep , +1 arp , motion recording and state saving would polish up the app nicely
+1 with extra yes please.
+1 to all list
arpeggiator AND motion recording
state saving
resize the playing surface layout individually for each synth
Since this thread has become a feature request thread:
Any supporter for more than 3 parameters controlled by Y axis, and reverse axis per parameter, and option to control ALL parameters?
yes yes, and both midi in and out
definitely!
Would be great to use this with fugue machine , even better if you could receive separate MIDI for each synth )
Make it AU instrument please!
I think 3 selectable y-axis parameters are enough. For MIDI out, which I would like too, I see a bit of a problem with the notes and pitchbends. Luckily the internal synth engine (with FM) is very good.
In it's actual state, and after going throught the preset list, I really think this app can't be described as "expressive". This app is so far, and might stay if nothing is done, an ambient morphing drone.
That's a shame considering the size of the playing surface.
Also missing: arrows to switch to next and previous preset/patch.
3 different audiobus outputs, one per synth, would be a game changer.
I just love how smooth and full the sound is. With this and Skram it feels like iOS synths are starting to get out of the buzzy fuzzies.
Love this app.
But hope it gets a maintenance update fairly soon, I'm getting repeating issues in AUM where it wont make a noise. Goes Red and drops out etc.....Restarting only seems to work if I quit AUM, start Shoom, make some noise with it, start AUM and then add Shoom again. Seems like some IAA maintenance work is needed...plus would be great to see IAA sync working too
It's funny, I went all through my testing pre my review with no issues in AUM what so ever. Now I'm getting that issue too
Yes it's strange I wasn't getting these issues at first, now very common for me.
I haven't gone for Shoom yet but I'm also getting this exact problem using the new Gliderverb update in AUM. I wonder if it's an AUM issue?
Yes it could be. I reinstalled Shoom and it didn't help. I might try doing that with AUM after backing up the projects etc
Shoom idea here.
Would it be cool(/easy enough to implement) to have each oscillator circle placed on the xy surface pulsate with its amp envelope? Or just have the cycle outline flicker with the level?
So that it can be seen which held press (circle) is making the noise.
Did that make any sense?
Just in case you haven't seen this from the discchord site

Nice demo from synthanathomy to watch while you are waiting ...
