  • No iPad Pro for me, yet. But my ever generous other half did surprise me with a Numark Mixtracks 3 today. Now I can relive my DJ youth from the safety of my office. ;)

  • I'm still not used to my iPad Pro other than the size being most satisfying. I still tend to do the same things on it that I would have done on my iPad 2, except that it doesn't crackle and crash everything. Examples of such are that I haven't set up Siri because I didn't realise iPads had siri because my iPad 2 didn't, so I've never got to know what use it is, and whether it's important or not. Another example is that I've yet to touch an Audio Unit extension app, as an actual AU (or AUx, is that correct?) because they don't exist on the iPad 2, and thus never got to know what use they are, how it works, and whether it's important or not. I'm still oriented to either audiobus or IAA.

What am I missing? For example, is it only for something that generates sound, or could one hypothetically, for example, let's suppose, just off the top of my head, have an app doing some kind of information processing inside another app. Imagine for a moment that Different Drummer were an AUx. Could it produce and influence the note generation of another app or sequencer or recorder by being inside it as an AU?

  • big is best :)

oh and the pen IS awesome if you like drawing etc.

  • Just popping back here to say that while I have dabbled a bit with the Pencil (and nice it is) this morning I had a fiddle about with it in StepPolyArp (an App I already rate very highly) and the Pencil suddenly made it EASY. Major, major difference in the overall editing. Highly plus plussed etc.
