Yes he does. I personally would like to slow him down just a touch :p

Perhaps if youtube implement link you could slow it down yourself :D

fyi, If you click the gear icon on the youtube vids there is an option to adjust the playback rate. works better if you want to speed things up a bit, but you can slow it down if you need to.

  • The great thing about these videos, is they're short, direct and to the point. Two to five minutes per tutorial is perfect. I don't really care what kind of coffee the reviewer prefers, and I don't want to waste five minutes getting to the meat of the review.

The content of these so far may be simple for those of us familiar with modestep, but for a newbie they're gold to get into the app and using it right away. And even though I've known much of it already, I have picked up a couple new things.

    I think it's a good partnership.

  • I think his and Doug's vids are the best out there , usually better than the ' official ' versions . More power to their elbows lol

  • +1 to liking both Jakob and Doug (and Colin's) videos.

I wish them the very best in terms of earning any money from their endeavours. They add a huge amount of value to the iOS music 'scene'.

@Korakios I sincerely hope you won't get paid for your job. No offence meant. And by the way I'm going to patron Jaqob right now for no work at all. Have a good life.

lol, I could write 5 pages but it's pointless...offence taken since you hope not earning money regardless if my job is good or not (and without even knowing enything about my job). You are on my ignore list for now...

Oh yes, we did pay him :) and he is the perfect fit imo. These videos are short ones in order to give you a quick overview of what you can do where; covering every button and functionality is not their intention or scope. Rest assured that this is only the beginning!

Glad to see more videos coming!
To be honest ,the thread's title is a bit over-enthusiastic :) and expected something like a 40 minute in-depth tutorial But as overviews the videos are great!
Hope for making a whole ModStep(ing)the world season B)

  • We would not need these videos if the developers made the UI more user friendly. But jacob always makes great videos.. The only gripe i have is that he goes really fast in these videos... you have stop it, replay etc.

  • I think they could not have hired a better guy for the job. Always loved Haq's vids. Often funny while being informative.

I didn't know anything about Modstep, but having watched the vids, I'm sold.

  • maybe ill buy it after watching the tutorials ?

  • Good job Jakob

  • @Nerk
If you guys made a really extensive video tutorial series covering everything , made an app out of it and charged say.. $9.99 or somewhere around there, I'd support it as would others I would think. Either Doug or Jakob.

  • Couldn't be any clearer...

Absolutely. Suggesting someone shouldn't get paid is the ultimate in picklesuckery.

  • Nice work Jakob and Modstep devs

  • Smells funny when a freelance reviewer (I mean a reviewer that does not get paid for all his othervreviews) gets paid for a particular poduct's review... particularly when this one keep repeating how wonderful the app is every 3 words...

A bit sad for me as I like JH a lot...

With some people, there’s always a scandal. lol. Does he identify himself as a “freelance reviewer,” or a musician and independent video maker who wants to share his enthusiasm and knowledge of iOS music making? The videos are apparently a different gig, and not presented as a review. They’re presented as tutorials. On YouTube, on MODSTEP’s channel. There's no obligation for anyone to be impartial.

BUT, BUT... but then there's no scandal and we'd have nothing to complain and rage about. Can't we just ... you know, continue to make up stuff that 20 seconds of research (read: clicking the actual link) would have shown not to be true?

Seriously though: nothing wrong with this. I've also hired Jakob to make videos for Audiobus and he's done a great job.

  • +1 on what @Sebastian says!

Ya, that SoundPrism Link video is awesome from Jakob, very attractive and sensational sales video! I don't believe others can do much better than Jakob.

  • Jakob hats off to you , love your style, keep up the GOOD Works and the videos

  • Flibbertygibbets.
Its not just the tides that the moon controls!
This forum can be an emotional rollercoaster sometimes.
Long live Jacob and all you hardworking reviewers and tute makers

OK guys, stop the flames, I surrender lol...
I was not trying to troll or make a scandal... And I confirm you that I watched these vids (I'm kind of watching every JH vids cause I like him a lot...)... I was just expressing what I felt watching these videos... For me, they would have sold the app better with less "Modstep is awesome (period)" and more explanations and demos of what can actually be done with modstep... Just an opinion (not yours it seems, but still worth something I guess).
