  • @jooga1972 To me, your tune would equally be at home on an Annie Mac show or the soundtrack to some warped, sped up film of faces of petrified teenagers on a viscous, jarring roller coaster ride.......from hell. No candy floss allowed kids!

There's a dark, threatening undercurrent of pain that perfectly contrasts & nags away at the slightly chirpier chip tune sounds. Urgency flows in both directions with that methodical, mental beat. Are the hi hats made of "Predator" vocal chords?

Your cover art came in very useful as I needed some resuscitation after your violently sonic ending! Very good sir.

I'm so ignorant, until now didn't know who Annie Mac was. Now I know. :) Thanks a bunch for your feedback, enjoyed reading evey word of it. Predator vocal chords ? - must sample them one day. :)

  • @deltAdata Firstly, thanks for those tips. Very kind. Just wish I was knowledgable enough to action your advice. I'm ok with finger, nose & ear bleed but sound bleeds are, at the moment, alien to my meagre brain! I will be researching this subject later. Thanks.

I love to watch a master craftsman at work/play. Amazing how you do all that supercharged twiddling so beautifully. It's like your fingers are an actual part of the instrument or app! Brilliant.

Great tune, very catchy & your rhythm, especially the differently timed snare beats all blend well. Pleasing song structure that allows you to demonstrate your prowess, particularly in the drum less sections. A ghostly, aching eeriness (chords & effects) adds a coolness that I feel throughout. Top tune.

Ooh yes please! I'd love to hear that. Please warn 24 hours before releasing though as will have to get my hiding place behind the sofa ready!

this month I've been exploring some raga riddem with model 15, medly, patterning and aum.

and I now look forward to checking out your may flavours ..

    cheers, badrico

Loved this, cool hypnotic opening with a great rhythm throughout. Lovely production with a good blend of the various textures with just enough of that eastern mysticism.

Made this with Samplr. Recorded into Audioshare thru AUM.

Sorry mate not for me. But it just goes to show how great this thread is that allows such a wide range of music to be posted. Keep on doing what you are doing I'm sure there are lots of people out there who appreciate this kind of thing.

Made with samplr, sunrizer, audiobus, audioshare and imovie for the video part. ^^

Cool video, I liked the use of the vocal samples, ultimately though I always struggle with purely electronic instrumentals.

@badrico What a seductive, sexy rhythm that folds neatly into your cool, spacey track.
Not sure if you're familiar with the U.K. Drama "Peaky Blinders?" Your tune would slip straight into its brilliant soundtrack. I can picture those Brummie bashers strutting their stuff to this. Perfect.

A hypnotic, trancey sway envelopes my senses & sets a calming tone for the day ahead. Gorgeous textures that together mix up a delicious delight of a stress free existence.

Many thanks ! Haven't seen peaky blinders yet but am keen to and will watch it now with special interest for the moment my tune arrives.. ( hopefully some late night dive scene with the heroine languidly smoking something foreign and exotic )

    Cheers, b

  • @orchardman

    Very pleased you enjoyed.
a " hypno intro " something I have long aspired to ..so I'm grinning.
    Grazie !,

I like it. I just got Samplr and so it's really helpful to see u using it. Don't you have bendy thumbs!? Blimey!. Does Samplr quantise the samples when u play them? Or is it practice and natural ability? The speeded up vocal sample is great and works brilliantly. I like this a lot although it peters about a little bit at the end. Great stuff though, well done.

    Thanks ! x)
Yep, my thumbs are a bit bended, 15 years of guitar fault... ^^
Yes the first mode have quantise fonction, truth, it need a bit of practice too.

Great stuff man. It's good to here some more rock & roll on this thread. Only complaint is that the vocals got a little lost in all the fuzz at some points but I liked it a lot.

  • I'm a little late with the reviews, which is unusual, but in my defense I can say I was busy promoting my new album. Will catch up later today. All the best!

  • thank you @orchardman im glad you liked it, i been writing more lately . this thread has helped alot ,, i find myself not only writing for myself but for the people who listen, before this thread i didnt show my stuff at all

Very good theme, @TGiG! I could totally imagine this song as an opening theme for an Indiana Jones-styled movie. Nicely done! The breakdown at 48'' and the subsequent FM piano (was that a DXi patch?) where particularly well-chosen. I also enjoyed the techno ending. Congratulations!

That's exactly the feel I was going for, thank you! The bell bit that I believe you are referring to is the 'Vibes' preset in iM1.

  • @Bluepunk said:
@TGiG Excellent title. So far, this is the best that I've heard from your good self. Cleverly capturing the flavour of Egyptian music then skilfully adding some spicy electronica. The mixture is of the right consistency & if you could physically add your song to a Shisha pipe, I'm sure the hit felt would knock a camels hump off!

Dark, broody, threatening & exciting. The break at .50 allows us to come down & relax slightly before the sharpness returns. Good ending & it reminded me of a submarine stuck on the ocean floor without a rescue plan. Think the Captain was inhaling too much of your mix!

I enjoyed what your song did to my lazy senses. Woke them up & are now on the alert for more unique, challenging music........ Great, imaginative stuff.

What a fantastic review! Thank you so much for that!

Great entries so far! Here's mine

Cool track man, as others have already said it would work well as the theme for a 1970s style sci-fi/horror movie. The only criticism from me would be that after a great atmospheric intro the jump to the main theme is a little abrupt, just thought you could have built the tension a bit more.

Thank you! I defiantly wanted the abrupt transition, though I think the subtle intro could be a bit longer.

@TGiG, love it. There's an old song by Edgar Winter, "Frankenstein", which I always loved because it had that lurching, menacing feel of the monster. You've capture that movement of the mummy in this. I love the treatment of the melody throughout, and the changes in what's going on behind it. Wonderful mix.

Ha awesome thank you so much! That songs rocks!

That's great stuff. You timed it perfectly, has impact, creates an atmosphere, couple of drops then doesn't outstay its welcome. I like the little fade out best, and you but some really interesting sounds together. Brilliant

Thank you for your kind review!

  • @trackedout said:
@tgig very industrial sounding i mean mechanical gears turning hammers and torches blowing hammer hitting metal , i picture a worker whispering lirics turning in motion multiple arms pushing twisting and turning . good piece

Exactly. You nailed it! Thank you!

@TGiG : 'withered tarboosh' - the track title is so great that reading it alone made me kinda like the music - which is so cool with the oriental sounds.... love the sinister vibe a lot!

Titles and album art (/book covers) really mean a lot. It's unfortunate at times but it's the truth. Thank you so much!

  • Thanks for the review @badrico !

  • @richardyot - Doubt: Wow man, this song came in with a bang. Wonderful production. The synths make such a perfect atmosphere in my opinion. Parts are reminiscent of Bowie to me  Well done, I love it!

  • I've updated the first page and can now catch up with my final crits and listens.

@badrico Very nice and mellow indian influenced instrumental, perfect for my currently foggy and tired state. Love the interplay of instruments and the counter-melodies between them. The choice of sounds is really good, and they mesh together to create a great vibe. Additional points for the restrained but very groovy drums.

It's also one of those rare tunes that manages to stay constantly evolving without losing the listener, I feel the sense of a story unfolding, of being taken to one place and then another. Good job.

  • @trackedout you probably intended this track for June, so you might want to repost it in the relevant thread:
