  • Holy Moses, this sounds amazing - from the demos it sounds almost as good as a hardware synth . Slightly more pennies than I usually spend , but this has ' top 5 synth folder ' written all over it . A new classic , and instant buy ...

  • Has anyone run this on an iPhone 6, yet? Sitting in an airport in SC. My iPad is on 8.4, so the phone is my only option right now.

@GeertBevin I'm loving the iOS Moog Model 15 so far.

As usual I'm a 'geek' so the question is...
Is there even a remote possibility to include ratcheting in the arpeggiator in a future update?

So far this has been a very solid experience and set's a new standard for a 1.0 release :)

Thanks for the praise! I've put your request on the list of possible future enhancements.

    Runs fine on iphone 6.

@GeertBevin All i can say is WOW thats how you launch an amazing app...amazing!

  • Oh, baby. Just spent my first hour with it. It is a beauty on 5S thanks to the navigation grid. I can't wait til my iPad is updated.

I rarely say 'screw you outside world', but going into airplane mode for some afternoon fun.

  • Also, happy to see it shoot straight up to 1 in top paid music apps. Screw you, forScore and djay2

  • There is Jean Michel Jarre on french tv for his new album "Electronica 2 : the heart of noise" and in a video we can see him playing Animoog

Uh-oh. Been offline all morning, but then this. Came to the thread half-hoping/expecting to read 'not there yet, crashes, bugs' but all I get is DOCTOR GOODYEAR TO THE INSTABUY SECTION! One question:

    Is it hard?

    That's what SHE said! lol

  • OHMAIGAWD. I just lost over an hr of my life and I thought I was testing the app for ten minutes tops. The tutorials are fantastic. I think I actually learnt modular synth basics :D that being said the possibilities this synth has is amazing. Specially since it can actually send and receive audio to other apps. Actually tested getting moogs filtertron into the signal chain and got some awesome sauce sounds
Definitely worth every penny I spent on it. I wonder what madness I'll be able to make when I start sending outputs from my volcas through this app to create some hybrid MooRG sounds.....

You should give it a chance. First of all it comes with a lot of presets, and you can also buy additional packs, but more importantly it also comes with some tutorials which show you how to build a sound step-by-step. What's even cooler is that **anyone can make a tutorial that can run natively in the app via the preset system, so there is a chance of getting third-parties to create tutorials.

Really. Oh, man. That's really enticing.

But I actually don't know what the differences among all the various synths are. Has anybody smart around here ever compiled a taxonomy of synth apps?
Like, how is this different than Animoog, exactly? Or even broadly?

Where does Poseidon fall in relation to this?

Give me a list, and I'll design it and post a pdf.

I'm far from being an expert, but Animoog uses short samples as the basis for its sounds, whereas Model 15 is a virtual analog, meaning it reproduces anolog circuitry in software, so essentially the sounds are created by oscillators (virtual ones) and then modified by filters etc... Basically it's completely different.

Poseidon also uses samples to generate the sounds, but again it's pretty different to Animoog. There are a few good threads on the forum about synthesis but I don't know exactly how to dig them up.

  • wow wow, this thing is pretty damn cool.
btw to developers, thank you for the left-handed mode. small detail but useful!

  • I like the sound of the Animoog , but the editing controls put me off using it . This is perfect - big Moog sound with easily tweakable knobs :))

Well, shit. About to throw away my jailbreak and update iOS for this.

Me too! This pushes me over the edge:) I have been leaning since the new Garageband was released but it wasn't quite worth it. But this! Wow!

  • Does this process live external audio input? modulars can do that right?

Meaning: did Moog create it to go in filter/ output slot of Audiobus?

Or whatever it takes for IAA?

@Samu, where are you? This must be your love!

    Yepp!
Got the app as soon as I heard about it. It's a lot cheaper than a Moog Mother-32.
I'm wondering if the idea for this app started after we were requesting an iOS version of the Mother-32? :D

A lot cheaper and well worth the price Moog is selling it for. The desktop equivalent would cost at least 10 times that. High quality software developers should be rewarded for delivering game changing apps. such as this

Yes, although not tried it yet...it has two Audiobus or IAA fx ports and can go in output slot of Audiobus.

  • ah, frikin COOL, thanks!

  • This just shows what can be done. Well done @GeertBevin :)

Think Moog will go down the Aira route and build hardware controllers to accompany the app?

I already have sort of a Poor Man's version which cost about $50 US for the hardware plus a free template. I bought an Evolution MIDI controller, replaced the knobs with shiny, Moog-like knobs and used a template provided by a guy on Youtube (LearnLizard). Midi learn all the knobs and you're set!

  • @Dham could you provide a close up image please

Anyone with experience on a mini retina?
Curious about size of controls on my little screen before I dive in.

    Thanks

  • Can we get some reports from early adopters on CPU usage with different devices?

Stick it in AUM as an IAA instrument and see what it does to the CPU meter. Thanks in advance

    AUM around 36% iPad Air 2 ios9.3.1

  • Oh my...this is happening the same day I had to shell out like 300 $ to have the broken fuel pump of my car replaced...

nice, thanks. I'm guessing that is a poly patch... or mono??! or does that even make a difference?

  • Can you get a drum/rhythm sound going at the same time with it? They do that on YouTube demos of the hardware version

  • So good to see – and hear – Suzanne Ciani again. B)

  • Pretty cool.

What's with the empty space at the bottom of the panel? Looks like a graphical glitch, but I'm guessing maybe it's a place for more modules in the future? Still looks odd and out of place though.
