ANIMOOG: Free Preset & Timbre Bank

http://animoog.org/2016/05/09/new-free-packs-2224-animoog-presets-now-available-major-update/

My latest Animoog bank and corresponding timbres has been made available on the site Animoog.org

There are over 100 presets that are no doubt so of the proudest preset design I have done. In particular, the range is evolving dramatic soundscapes to aggresively edgy bass shots and even some cool tonal harmonics.

If you do grab them, please be sure to shoot me a link to anything you do with them.

Regards,

RUST(i)K

    Welcome

  • Thanks @RustiK. I wonder if there's a way to get them with iOS device only? Guess it needs iTunes etc

  • Thanks so much I got them into Audioshare but can't get from there into animoog they are listed as ".preset"

Via PC is how I do.

    IFunbox free for PC

    Hook up IOS device.

    Funbox will show device.

    Go to managing files

    Click on Animoog

    Open Sandbox

    Find Timbre folders ----

-- ADD NEW ONE and LABEL IT

COPY FROM PC (timbres from PC into app)

    Then find Presets folders

    SAME AS ABOVE

CReate new preset folder by add new folder (label it)

    Copy from PC into app

GET TIBRES/PRESETS INTO PC THEN TO IOS

    Make sure do timbres first!

    Hope it helps

  • Does it make a huge difference loading your own timbre into Animoog? I've programmed quite a lot of my own presets with the built in and available expansions, wondering if there's crazy new sonic territory to be found doing that, or if they will inevitable maintain the Animoog signature sound.

    Matter of opinion.

    But I say naturally, yes.

Try these timbres and presets and make an informed opinion

Let me know if I can help

  • @RustiK thanks for the pack, many very likeable sounds in there (:

  • yes! thx but some sounds dont work "seq crooked" timbres are missing, or is
    "MMDResonantchord..."
from one of the Moog IAP SoundPacks?

  • can anybody make and install there own timbre into animoog. if so, how can I do it ? sounds cool

  • edited May 2016

I can testify that RustiK's work here is extraordinary.

Install was straightforward using PC- make and label folders for timbres and presets, drop in via Funbox access to Animoog sandbox.

  • is animoog.org ever going to get a dedicated "Animoog programming tips" section? Most resources I've found are like "durr you can change the orbit rate". I ve become comfortably adept at programming it myself, but it would be cool to hear others' thoughts on how they go about designing a patch. Where are the rest of the Animoog fanatics? or are there not that many of us?

I use Animoog 100% of the time.

    Always open and used somehow.

I can tell you my tips for patch design.

Negative space is critical. No arpeggio function so this is very important. Specifically, using the BASIC - SILENCE timbre strategically.

Also, MODULATION is critical. It is also unique. I find that the LFO is not average on Animoog. I am not sure exactly what or how they do it. An LFO is a frequency that is below 20 hrtz,, so we cannot hear it. It is these waves that modulate the frequencies we can hear. ANimoog's is unique for me, it seems to vary in ways that sometimes seem outside the norm, which makes it so exciting.

Also, I recommend that any person who wants to know Animoog and kill it, try and make a whole song. All parts, 100% in Animoog. Done with all custom presets.

By the end of that , a person becomes 1 with the app.............(figuratively)

    Is this what you meant?

Hearing, then working these presets put Animoog in top three in the stable, and Model 15 jumped in next to it...just these two cover so much ground

  • @RustiK Thanks for creating these presets! I'll be loading them onto my iPad tonight. My hats off to anyone and everyone who takes the time to create presets, and chooses to generously share them with the community!

  • Very cool. Thanks! Got them all installed now. To be honest, I've had Animoog for ages but didn't know how to use it. I think it might have even been free at temporarily as some point. With all the excitement for Moog 15, started messing around with Animoog and am floored at what I've been missing out.

One thing, I don't get how so many strange and varied sound presets can be made from what seems like a fairly limited amount of parameter control. Definitely going to spend more time with this and explore much more. Thanks again for the presets and timbres :)

  • Yeah I've been programming my own patches on it for a while now, just this past week I've been building up loops using it exclusively. It's so easy to fill out a mix with it. Less is more. I tend to do a lot of path origin modulation routing to get arpeggio type stuff, adjusting rates and tempo and what not. Never thought to use the silence waveform. Will have to give that a go. It's just a hell of an instrument once you get to know it.

  • Just wished Animoog could load banks without the need for a computer

  • Thanks for these!
I have been loading some of the timbres into Samplewiz for further manipulation.

  • Do I have to jailbreak to load timbres to the Sandbox?

Here's the dialog I get from iFunbox:

  • I'm using a PC with Windows 10, and iFunbox works fine for me with no jailbreaking. Air 2 64GB, iOS 9.3.x

I tried it tonight and it worked fine. I downloaded the latest version of iFunbox. Maybe that's the issue?

EDIT: I'm using Windows 7 and an iPad Air1 with the latest iOS, no jailbreak.

I had the same question. I am guessing from "Minimoog Model D" IAP soundpack.

    Yes.

I've been able to successfully install timbres in the "Custom" folder, not in the sandbox, but in the file sharing. I will upload a screenshot later.

  • ALL IAP are required for several presets.

If it is missing, it presents an opportunity for you to try you own ideas to add on to the existing preset from me.
