I'm excited to see what they've cooked up.
Haha, same here. I did pay good money for the iPad version though.
Me too. A new iPad version as well ! What a nice surprise.
Haha, me too for the iPad version.
Now, should I be patience man again for another half year?
Let's see what the new iPad version brings, if it is all new version or just a small update --- not even sure if it comes on Thursday as well ...
we'll have to look at the features to decide if it is worth six months
is auxy 2.0 going to be a seperate app ? coz 1.0 is severely lacking in the midi dept. meanwhile the ipad version is lacking link
This thread makes me laughing
Can it do Goa trance?
Ummmmmmmm........ It's got link!........... Ummmmmmmm ........ but maybe I'm being Mr Thicky here? ........... But I don't see it as an IAA, or Audio Bus compatibility. So what is the point of Link?......... Like the iPad version, you cannot really do anything with it, apart from sharing out your projects.........
my gues: same app, new version number, no background audio, new price
So basically, it's an update to use with another iPhone(the Link reason) to jam together. You cannot record your efforts into your DAW of your choice, via Audio Bus, or IAA, or whatever?........... In other words........... A piece of shit then?........ Totally unusable!...... Hey, Ho!....... Shame really. Quite like the iPad version. It had good potential......... Anyway,.......... Next!.........
I seriously doubt that the future of music creation would rest on the shoulders of one of the most unmusical music apps on iOS. Speaking of iPhone version: can't stop playback while editing midi, hope you like chasing that playhead and early onset ear fatigue, limited sounds, which you can't even audition before programming some notes. And why would people with no musical experience be enticed to dabble in music by programming a crappy piano roll? Gosh you don't think a scaled playing surface might be at least a little enjoyable? No, that's too hard. Pro level shit right there bashing away on a scale locked playing surface, not their audience.
funny how "hey it's free" makes people get into bad moods
Free is at least, a price point reflective of its value.
Holy crap! This thing is awesome! Of course, it'd be totally great if it played nice with IAA. For a self contained app, you can do a lot. I love making ambient music and made this within two minutes.
Well, that lasted for a good ten minutes on the phone...
I'm wondering if my 'short-term' reaction reflects on the app's limitations itself, or the sheer number of other apps to peruse / explore / use ?
Yes.
I have to say, on the iPhone version it would be pretty damn useful if it had midi out and link.
I really like the piano roll.
But not holding out much hope.
@Matt_Fletcher_2000 in the iPhone version you can export a project as a MIDI file and same for the audio. Auxy iPhone does have Link, you could sync Auxy with other music signal flows and then glue the results back together in your DAW. You'd have to run Auxy in the foreground as it doesn't do background audio. Despite all its many minimal mass appeal therefore functional limitations, Auxy could certainly be used in the composition process if you sequence in Auxy and then play other Link apps on top. You can then use the MIDI exported from Auxy to drive other synths too.
It's out now! Auxy 2.0
cool update, but still no midi out on iphone auxy? weird.
owe the ironing...
There is a free launch again today
2.0 + No AB/IAA = InstaDelete
Just swallowing my free launch, want me to vomit and spit out from stomach?
Why they cooked the food without a plate and forks to serve when we were in that AUXY restaurant?
In almost every audio interface of all shapes and sizes on the planet, there is a time tested, nearly universal button that must be accessible at all times. It is known as start/stop/play/pause. Auxy requires the user to listen to a work in progress on an endless loop during editing. So either i program a perfect melody right off the bat and beat the playhead to the finish line or am forced to listen to my mistakes over and over until corrected. Its a special kind of hell, this app, with its easy breezy piano roll that cannot be stopped.
By the way I just saw it was updated. Has this been fixed?
