    Hi @gjcyrus,

There is indeed a way to edit the cue points and beatgrid, the way for it is straightforward but not necessarily easy to find if you don't know where to look.

To edit the initial cue points, go to the "Waveforms" view (tap the button at the top left-hand corner of the main screen, with the kind of sine wave-esque look to it), which will bring up each track's waveform. Then, a button will appear in the middle of the screen right under the sync indicator at the top. That button enables the beatgrid controls panel. There, you'll be able to change the BPM by expanding/contracting the beatgrid, and moving it around.

Also, to change the initial cue point, simply tap to the point of the track where you are trying to set it (while the track is on pause), and then tap the "Cue" button of the corresponding deck to set the track's initial cue point where you see fit. That cue point will also be saved for next time you fire up the app.

Gotta admit, I never tried any Led Zeppelin though!

    Cheers,
    Alex @Mixvibes

    Hi Alex,

I humbly and embarrassingly apologize. I did not know this was possible.

I'm reading your post now and have Cross DJ open on an iPhone 5s but I can't seem to find any button appearing under any sync indicator. In fact the sync indicator buttons are at the bottom, NOT the top. There's only a Vinyl button. As for the initial cue point, I had already tried tapping the flashing Cue button but it always went back to the initial cue point so was unable to erase it.

On a related note, I actually purchased your newest Cross DJ Pro app as I wanted the Link capability but I already had your older Cross DJ app where I purchased all the fx. There wasn't any option to purchase Link in the old free Cross DJ app so you guys might want to look into that.

    Thanks,

CORRECTION EDIT: It looks like I can change the cue point but it only goes to the next beatgridded line. Unfortunately on my iPhone 5S, I'm not finding the button where I can change the beat grids.

Congrats. Your app is definitely coming along. I'll buy all the IAPs as soon as there are better options for importing my own samples from audioshare/audiocopy. Until then, this isn't really useful to me.

    >

I bought the app anyway. :) But it will only really be useful to me when/if it gets state saving under AudioBus. I really can't be bothered to set up everything from scratch every time, so I just use Launchpad.

    Hi @gjcyrus,

Okay I understand the confusion now, the thing is that what you just said is actually an oversight on our part. For some reason, there used to be a beatgrid edition button on iPhone (just like on the iPad), but there isn't anymore. I already reported this to the staff when I found out about it, something like a month ago. Seems like it was cut at one point to meet a deadline and never put back again, which makes the iPhone version actually the only version of Cross DJ Pro to not feature beatgrid edition.

So yeah, sorry to have kept you tilting at windmills. Thankfully the problem has been reported and will most likely be fixed in a nearby iOS update. What I told you earlier regarding the beatgrids is valid on the iPad though, if you have one.

Also, regarding the Cross DJ Free/Cross DJ Pro thing, this was an intentional move on our part to more clearly differentiate the "Pro" version from the "Free" version, which is a trend that already started recently (the Free version no longer has the waveform view now). Of course we're not leaving the users in the cold about this, I've consequently provided refunds to anyone who was missing the waveform view and did not want to pay for the software twice (which is only natural). One cool thing about Android is that Google grants developers access to this Merchant Center thing that allows us to perform refunds ourselves, however that's not the case with Apple unfortunately. I do encourage you to get a refund for the IAPs for the Free version though, I've found an article that I usually link to that explains the process of getting a refund from Apple in greater detail: http://www.imore.com/how-to-get-refund-itunes-app-store

@Nkersov, duly noted regarding state saving, I've added your request to our feature request document. Thanks for purchasing the app too, hope you're digging it!

    Cheers,

Yes, Alex, I do dig the app. :)

On the plus side, you're already offering something that Launchpad won't even discuss; reversible samples. If there was a way to save what I was doing, preferably AB state saving, I'd likely use RemixLive a LOT more.

  • I wish there was a way to get more than 24 samples for the iPhone version. Even a button that toggles back and forth to and from a 2nd screen for more samples would be incredibly helpful!! Twenty Four samples is just too small a number to get a complete song done. Forty eight samples, like the iPad, should be fine though. It just really cuts down on the usefulness to only have 24 samples available..... I've bought all of the app feature IAPs so that I can do everything, but need more sample pads....

I'm really enjoying this app (Remixlive)
It is intuitive and sounds good.
    Looking forward to more updates.

Latest update all good. Well done developer. Unfortunately, unless this app gets State Saving under AudioBus, it's literally too much effort for me to integrate. I mean, while I'm laboriously resetting everything each time, I could be having fun using Lauchpad. Also, there are STILL no sound packs I like the look of, just EDM. :'(

  • Redownloading now. The new sample edit looks good. This is an area where Hook and Blocs still don't have it as good as it should be.

Does this developer have a good contact address that you know of?

  • yes, message him on this forum, he always responds

  • Hi all,

@Audiojunkie I guess we don't advertise it very well but you can actually access all the samples from the iPad sample packs even in the iPhone version, it's just that you have to search for them. In the Edit View on the iPhone, when you tap on the "+" it will allow you to search for a sample. But at the top of the screen, don't select "Packs", instead, select "Loops" or "Sounds" depending on the sample you're looking for, and then you will find all of the sample packs' samples (even the iPad ones) in the categories, including all the separate drum tracks (instead of the unified single "Drums" sample) and samples from the two additional lines that are technically "not present" on the iPhone version (because of size constraints).

@Nkersov what kind of sample packs would you be looking for? Don't hesitate to sound off here, we have a very comprehensive feature requests document already. :#

@Jumpercollins uh... Can't really say anything right now. Just ... sit tight for a bit.

    @JeffChasteen and @gjcyrus : glad you're digging the app!

Hi Alex. I'd love to see packs that offered retro, acoustic, and experimental sounds.

Example 1 - Old school reggae.
    Example 2 - Unusual percussion.
Example 3 - Industrial/ household sounds warped into beats and melodies.

But by FAR the most important thing, for me, would be the addition of State Saving under AudioBus. I'd love to use RemixLive more, but having to manually reset what I was doing every single time is a pain.

I'm actually referring to the number of playable pads. The iPad has 48, and the iPhone only has 24. That's not really enough to get tracked work done. I do everything exclusively from my iPhone.

BTW, I can't find any way to easily import samples. There doesn't seem to be any Open-in, AudioCopy, General Pasteboard, AudioShare, DropBox, etc. Only iTunes. There really needs to be more import options.

These are things that are necessary, but I'd happily buy IAPs that add the functionality!

Still waiting for Zoom in sample edit and for Cross DJ on iPhone to have initial cue point edit feature made available

  • Yeah to make this a winner we need some other way of importing sounds except from itunes( who has samples in itunes(?)) open in is a must, and bath import from as would be awesome

  • Is there a way to import your own samples into Cross DJ Pro? I wanted to import some Session Band tracks to find out the true BPM. When I read the discription that this app could tell the BPM it got me really happy, but I can't figure out a way to import. Thanks in advance .

  • Any updates on Cross DJ initial cue point edit? Thanks

  • Also wanted to put in a request for ability to have time independent key change. Thanks
