That's some daggone poetry right there.
Here's the dev's origin story (in his own words) for those who are interested. LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN!
Blast from the past! The app and dev went through a lot of unnecessary drama and seem to still suffer for it. I'm glad to see a few others starting to peel the onion though. The app is incredibly deep but in an unusual way. Yes, there are a lot of functions, but the depth mostly comes from the math and permutations that result. The concept itself isn't that tough to get to grips with.
Wait. Math?
I'm out.
I thank you for changing the price in the thread title all the same.
The app handles the math. Not to fear. Here's a demo I did a while back that might help show that a deep understanding of math (which I lack) isn't necessary.
Ok. Well that's really really strange. Good strange. Will take some unpacking. But already I got to some really interesting rhythms. But the interface — my goodness. It's like that scene in Independence Day when Will Smith enters the alien craft and just knows how to parse its controls. Except in this case I'm more like Judd Hirsch and I have no idea what the hell is going on.

Maybe change your camera angle in the future. 'Cause some of the time your hand covers what you're doing. But, very interesting demo.
Definitely
It's extremely deep and well worth getting past the initial learning curve
Definitely needed better production, but glad you found it interesting.
I was going to PM you about your levels after watching the last video you posted. Have you "leveled up" your techniques since it was produced?
@telecharge - yes....I've dialed in the audio and video to some degree, but always open to suggestions. Currently, I'm using QT to record the iPad A/V and Audacity to record the voiceover. Then I take everything into CuteCut on my Mac to balance levels out and add graphic overlays to highlight what I'm touching on the screen. I haven't done anything recently though.
Personally, I would lower the app audio to make it less distracting and easier to hear your voice.
I also wanted to bump this post and give Double D some more exposure.
I've considered using an app to duck the music as I do the voiceover. Of course, it's probably a blessing that you can't hear my voice very well
Always glad to bump DD up too!
I got put on to ScreenFlow recently - worth a look. Has ducking, and even hosts Osx Au fx.
Ain't nothing wrong with being a Southern Gentleman!
Thanks @Ocsprey ! I've also considered BossJock Studio and keep the voiceover on the iPad. I'll have to look at ScreenFlow and see what makes the most sense. If I could get to a point where it's painless, I'd like to do more vids.
Lol...you're half right @telecharge !
Sure - I've been stuggling w/ similar issues for about 6-8 months, even got some good insight from @Fruitbat1919 (thx again). I've got so many articles and ideas backed up, but the "painless" aspect you mention - no time for that drudgery.
I also prefer manuals, and can't learn via video very well. I'm going to make mine with accompanying PDF's that are timestamped to the video, along with the same cue points flagged on the video. This way you can quickly toggle to the section you want (from doc links or screen), and have the accompanying text/video to reference. I haven't had tv in like 15 years and I go out of my seat trying to watch a video that may or may not even have info related to my needs - so this is a video feature I'm always wanting, but clearly isn't too popular!
@Ocsprey - liking the accompanying PDFs concept. That would benefit DD videos especially, given how busy the screens are.
The PDF Guide has a new section called Videos at the end with links to most of the videos currently out there:

The sad thing about the Internet is how much WAY out of date stuff (like 4 years old) stays up there and gives people the wrong impression...oh well!
Any chance of a single-column reflowable PDF? I have it on my phone and I spend more time scooting about left right up down, zooming in and out, than reading it. Thanks.
Nice idea @technemedia . Here's another one I did on automation and the Ops panel...
I started to make the one column PDF and eBook but the software lost my work on an operation I performed and I said fuck it after that, sorry. It's a lot of work. I'll add tha vid, funj.
I literally LOLed.
Yeah....been there Peter!
This app intrigues me, so much to explore. I'm really enjoying the experience.
Cool. Did you just buy it? I'm hoping Peter gets some new customers from this sale.
yes, I just bought it today.
I have this weird thing happening in DD, when Automation is on while changing my presets, it plays 4beats of the new preset, then jumps back to the one before...? Happens all the time, I have to stop the Automation to be able to really change presets. Anybody else?
I think that's normal operation if you have the "Return After" slider set in the Automation panel.
