Skram evidence that it might not yet be abandoned! ;)
Curious. Skram dropped over 3 months ago with a lot of enthusiasm and promises to have free updates to make useful, etc. but then nothing.
Has this app been shelved now? Seems odd considering how active they were promoting it on this board. Almost never use now since it only supports emailed recordings and no IAA/AUM or AudioShare. Thinking of deleting to make room with hopes that maybe the devs will make good on original promises.
I remember the dev of Skram suggested I school myself on "the nuts and bolts of software development, etc." But it seems like coming up on 4 months is a wee bit on the long side. Then again, I never did school myself on those "nuts and bolts of software development" so maybe nearly 4 months is reasonable?
Comments
I would believe it to be reasonable depending on what they wanted to accomplish. Plus Liine seem to be perfectionists on their software. I believe they take a bit of time in between releases, but will fix bugs as fast as they possibly can.
Don't they have a pretty good reputation?
Four months is nothing if you are a small team and have ambitious plans and ideas ...
Takes me four months to do the laundry some days...
This thread addresses it and the dev replied...

Hmmm... ok. Well, I'm on the road doing the Mexico backpack thing and was looking at which apps I'm not using to see which will at least get temporarily culled to make room if I need it.
Looked at Skram and wondered if it was dead or not.
Gorgeous @skiphunt! ¿Què playa?
Gracias. Playa los Muertos en Puerto Vallarta, pero estoy en Melaque horita.
Nice! I've never been to Melaque but PV is fantastic!
AHhh nice, I was in Nouveau Vallarta a few years ago, so lovely!
We submitted an update yesterday.
Cool thing!
(Pleasant suspense ensues)
@skiphunt Can you please now append the thread title with a "no"?
and add some spanish exclamation marks
So many good NO memes out there...
To be fair, on their web page Skram mentions the new features will happen this year and we're only a little over halfway through it. Hopefully the submitted update will include more export options or adds in Link, IAA, or Audiobus compatability. It seems many music app users have grown accustomed to shorter app update cycles.
@skiphunt : Gorgeous photo, so glad you shared it here, thank you.
@liine_nick : Thank you for the update, and for responding.
Fair enough.
Sorry, I'm backpacking in Mexico and not checking here so much. Just edited post title
My pleasure & gracias!
Moved on to Melaque for a few days, then caught an overnight bus to Zihuatanejo (Instagram feed HERE)
Here's a photo I made yesterday that shows how I feel regarding the news that Skram hasn't been abandoned:
This little punk-ass saw me framing up a shot of this gal so he climbed up from the water and thought he'd ruin my shot. Think again carbon, you made the shot! lol
PRrrrr! Thanks! This will come in handy on long nights at sea...
You got me excited. well done.
Quick update — discovered a rare but fatal freeze when using a certain app + a certain connectivity method + another connectivity method + Skram. Fixing this one and resubmitting another build.
Every developer knows that feeling: "(Submit Binary) .... UGH! OH NOES! .... (Reject Binary)"
Hmmm, if I had to guess, AUM+Audiobus+Link? Midi connectivity would be cool as well. Does this mean another week or so of waiting?
A certain excitement is building...
I'm rooting for this one.
Most rootable
I changed it ladies. But it was/is a fair question to begin with. I bought this app and was on board with all of the hype and activity this dev was pumping up from the beginning.
So yeah, I supported this dev by buying their app and have high hopes for it. Some here say they have a good rep. Sounds good enough to me.
But I make no apologies for asking a fair and legit question.
Is that still too "strident and entitled" for ya JohnBoy? If it is. Too bad.
No apologies necessary. I just thought keeping the title unnecessarily reflected poorly on them, since they have been chiming in often enough, imo. Now, where did I leave my purse?
Coolness. Nice sense of humor too.
