Oh yah, second best part for me. I'm a glitcher, I'm a squelcher, I'm a midniiight... belcher...
This would be great, if only they would improve Abu Dhabi by adding automatic micro fades or transcient detection in order to avoid constant clics and pops...
I have another wish...
I wan't Korg Gadget to remember the zoom-level in every clip...
As it is now, If I go back from a 8 bar view to the mixerstrip/Gadget overview and go back in again in the sequencer again, Korg Gadget have going back to a 1 bar view... Irritating!
Since the three new Gadgets coming out I have spending alot of time in Korg Gadget, and, the new acoustic Madrid & Gladstone have made Gadget so fuckin' great to other than electro music...
But, there's something here & there in Gadget we wish could be better...
Rock on dudes!
Unless I missed it, "select all" would be very helpful in the piano roll.
Yeah, that's welcome when it maybe coming...
Yesterday I imported an 64 bar long piano-MIDI-file in Korg Gadget (Saltzburg)....
But, the "import" got to less velocity that I manual incresed the velocity... It that case it had been great to select all and incresed it 30 steps...
Yup. Seemingly simple, but irritating to be without...
Exactly, if you zoom in to select everything, it's very hard to zoom out without unselecting them, at least with my hands.
Very much impressed with nee Madrid and Gladstone apps. More of that quality would be great, especially something that covered acoustic and electric guitars.
For my needs, some relatively simple additions to Gadget would make me even happier with it. User named tracks. Import/Export MIDI to/from clips. Post quantize with adjustable strength and 8th/16th swing. Precise control point editing of automation. Select All.
Let me put it like this. With Gadget, we already have something of a session view like Live. What I'd like is an arrangement view not unlike the one in live. It doesn't have to be overly complicated, but the idea of being able to move around, split, cut, copy, paste, etc midi events as I see fit would really cement Gadget as my goto music app even further.
For the automation editing it would be nice to have a line that shows the current control value and another line that shows the last value from the previous scene (if different).
Since I have all the gadget experts here:
Guys when gadget is in Link mode why doesn't it follow the scene playback rules?
Is there a setting I need to change?
I'm finally enjoying gadget along with Bloc Wave syncd with Ableton Link in Audiobus and AUM for mixing and I'm really loving it! But I wish Gadget would follow the scene rules so I could stay in BW to enable/disable pads.
Todays v.2.52 update to Korg Gadget seems to fix sampling playback in Bilbao....
But, my two most wishes were not "fixed":
I wish that Gadget could remember the zoomview in every scene when you go back and return to the sequencer mode... As it is now there's always one bar view... If you have 16 bars I wish Gadget to remember that I have zoomed into an 8 bar view before leaving out to the channelstrip view...
I wish that Korg could add the IPX (insert effects) button also when you are inside the sequencer... Like this:
I'd like to add my 2 cents. I agree with everything the OP said and adding sampler. Also to record audio like a proper DAW would open up a wealth of opportunity. I wish for Auidobus, AU, and IAA app integration but I don't think it's possible because of sync issues related to iOS. I think Korg wants to keep up their high standards for Gadget.
I will add another wishes to the list to improve Korg Gadget:
Transpose. Yes, it's already there, but, you have to select the notes first to transpose this up or down the scale...
my wish is that you could transpose an whole scene with an +/- button (also with one octave up or down-button)...
There's too fiddly to select say 16 bars with notes in an variation from octave 2 to octave 7...
Transport buttons in full screen mode...
An easier way to change note length in the sequencer... Now there's a lot of pointing in and out with the functionkey...
yeah, I know, you can set an very short note length and draw out the length, but, if you want exact length of the note it's fiddly also...
Perhaps some of this wishes have been noted before, but, there's always good to point out thing's once again...
Any of this issues that can be some sort of workaround instead?
Midi out pleeeeeeeeeeeeease! I would pay double the price of other gadget IAP's... Since there must be a concern of cutting into IAP sales if they open up the closed system. But oh to have the Gadget sequencer and automation running my other apps and external gear!
...I will also see three new Gadgets to play with:
Guitar-Gadget - Manchester...
Woodwind-Gadget - Boston...
Audio-Gadget - Stockholm...
String-Gadget - Vienna!
Any more useful Gadget suggestion?
Inspector Gadget
I think a gadget that emulates this would be awesome!
Sex-Gadget - Bangkok
Really.. a Daft Punk Gadget would do well (vocoder plus freakin' aerodynamic guitar sounds generator)
That would be really nice. There definitely needs to be some sort of guitar riff gadget. Madrid will give nice tones at least.
Also, I dropped a request on the official Korg forums regarding insert effects accessible from the synth page and they said they would forward it to the dev team so at least they're aware. I'm thinking that one is well within the realm of possibility and probably not too hard of a sell.
Sometimes when I use the Tokyo Gadget I wish there would be something in the vain of TweakyBeat, it's really smart and minimalistic for creating synth drum sounds.
A fuller drum synth would be most appreciated. I agree.
@Matt_Fletcher_2000 definitely!
imagine smth like Microtonic within Gadget. Wow.
Also I lack a more in debt polyphonic synth. Gadget synths are fun but they're more like find ok preset and tweak and play. I can't get very far when init them. I want to see smth like Serum Razor or Sylenth in terms of sound design and weirdness capabilities. Maybe still early I know.
2 new Gadgets: 1. Figure, 2. Traktor DJ. How tuff can it be, they already exist. Just a matter of transcribing..
Funk Gadget - Chic
Reggae Gadget - Marley
Psychedelic Gadget - Leary
Rock Opera Guitar Gadget - Townshend
New WaveStation/HD-1/Sampler.app with a 'Gadget' similar to Darwin - Mutate
I still want an iPolysix Gadget.
Me too, and a Mono/Poly Gadget would be awesome too
(Still waiting for the 'complete' Korg Legacy Collection for iOS both as AU-X and 'Gadgets').
